Note: This was originally for a project but it got denied so i thought "Hey I based these characters off of MCSM so I might as well put it somewhere!" And here it is! It's a short letter taking place after the American civil war. Just imagine Petra with a southern accent. Enjoy

Life has been difficult over the past few years. Ever since you left all those years ago, thing's haven't been the same. I miss hearing the swishing sound of a pencil in the morning and rolling over to see you writing like there's no tomorrow. Our friends would always say you were a gifted writer, but you would always deny it and say you're just 'average'. Stop lying to yourself! You have a gift so use it... I guess that's why you moved to Canada eh? You always said that you prefer the nice British lands of the great white north. I wanted to go with you believe me I did but I needed to help Jesse with the farm... But then the civil war heppened. I guess you were right... You always are. Mostly anyway. I can imagine all the sappy words from you already.

Regardless before the war Jesse and I would visit another plantation just a few miles north. And that's what finally made me see eye to eye. When I arrived I saw this little black girl named Olivia, a smart one she was. I enjoyed every moment I spent with her while Jesse looked after the other children. However one day I heard Olivia was going to be sold to where I have no clue. And after that day I never saw her again and the rest of her family was deviated but the owners didn't care. At least I treated slaves like human beings but everyone else was just cruel! Yes before I did whip slaves into line and I'll admit my acts of cruelty but then I finally saw. Since Jesse took care of most of the business I had no idea slaves were broken from their families. Looking at Olivia's family after she was sold I knew I had to so something about it.

So from then on our home became sort of a 'station' of you know what I mean. Yes we became a part of the underground railroad, we... well mostly I would take runaways in and promise they'll get to freedom. Jesse on the other hand didn't approve but over time it just became life and Jesse promised to keep it a secret. Of course now there's no point in hiding it anymore, but Axl (another plantation owner) would visit often and I remember him saying, "If I ever catch the people who are stealing slaves you best bet that I'll shoot them before they even know what hit 'em!" After that we never spoke to him again. For years we kept doing this, taking in slaves and giving them a place to stay for the night. But for every action there's a reaction. So on the night of August thirty first northern troops burned down our plantation. As you know we basically built that plantation and to see it burn was heartbreaking. Luckily no one was in the house besides me and Jesse but it still broke me.

Remember when we were eighteen and I just moved to South Carolina? We decided to build a home for ourselves, sure it took a lot longer than it did but it was worth it. Surprisingly it only took two years hell my parents were shocked we got it done so quickly. And remember the time my sister kept asking when we were going to have kids? That was an interesting day and almost ten years later still no kids. She must be so disappointed in me... well us I should say. My parents and sister were waiting for us to be married but it never happened. I guess they aren't getting any kids from me, sooner or later I'll be like Stacy needing nothing more than friends. But recently I've been referring to myself as your wife for awhile. Jesse and all our friends were shocked but it just felt right. And because of this change I've been targeted by the Ku Klux Klan, the government took our land and many have claimed me to be stupid though I'm not stupid. Eventually I hope that you'll come back, I'm now living in North Carolina. Not much of a change but it'll do.

Love,
Petra Bianchi
