They finally arrived at their destination. Sky was no longer blue and bright, but it's rather orange-ish which signed the night would come soon. They still need to take one hour walk to his parents' house.
Safety was their first priority, so they took the bus instead since it wouldn't consume so much time and they wanted to arrive before the sun fully went down―night time here wasn't hectic like what they usually saw in the city. Arriving before night time came would be highly advised.
As they stepped into the bus, they sat on one of the seats. Chaerin sighed as she was finally settled down in one of them, still feeling exhausted after hours sitting on train. Her shoulders stiffened, almost every parts were numb. She was thankful for at least not having to spend hours inside of a full train because that'd be a hell. And the bus was luckily quite too, only two other passengers were there with them.
'Chaerin, are you okay? You look like a game character who just conquered a dungeon.' Taehyung showed his phone to her, chuckling at his tired girlfriend. He was actually really worried.
The twenty-two years old girl puffed her cheeks. "And you don't look any better, Kim Taehyung," she retorted and then laughed afterwards.
Taehyung placed his hand against her right ear, scooting her head closer until it leaned against his own shoulder, closing Chaerin's eyes with his palm so the light that soaked through the window wouldn't be disturbing her.
As if they had the ability to read minds, Chaerin didn't inquire her boyfriend and let him did what he wanted. Instead, he enjoyed how his scent fused with her. She enjoyed how the warmth of his body radiated to her own, soothing the numb feeling on her muscles―relaxing and calming.
He removed his hands once they arrived. 'Chaerin, we're here.' She nodded and they both proceeded to get off of the bus, bowing politely to the driver which earned a small smile from him before the door being closed.
Adjacent to the bus stop was a small house with so many plants planted in the mini garden in the front of it. Behind the house they had row of trees that soared to the distance, forming a forest. Living near a forest could be dangerous, but his parents didn't see that as a matter and instead, enjoyed living near the said place.
They walked to the house together whole carrying their belongings. Once they stepped on the porch, vibrations could be felt from the wooden surface. Taheyung could already foresee what's going to happen and his guess was right. The door opened before they could even knock it as two figures came running to him, tackling him with hugs and peck on cheeks.
"Hyung!" The two boys exclaimed as they technically suffocate their brothers, with love and care. They missed him so much.
Taehyung laughed as he lifted them down. He crouched to their height level and ruffled their fluffy hair, smiling at the sight of his younger brothers. Chaerin's heart softened at the scene. It melted her.
"Taehyung dear!" His mother came out from the house and hugged Taehyung which he returned tightly, missing the scent of his superhero.
They pulled from the hug and his mother looked over her shoulder, just to see Chaerin standing there bowing at her with a huge cheerful grin planted on her face.
Mrs. Kim really loved Chaerin as if she was her own daughter already, considering how polite and lovely she was. Just like what she did to Taehyung, she gave a loving hug to her. "Thank you so much, Chaerin-ah. I'm so happy to see him doing well." Unknowingly, a tear of happiness rolled down from her eye as Chaerin wiped it away with her thumb.
His mother knew what kind of history she had with Taehyung, but didn't mind at all. For her, as long as she tried to change from her mistakes then it's okay. Instead of holding grudge towards Chaerin, she approved their relationship and feeling grateful for knowing her.
After the heartwarming welcomes with Taehyung's mother, they both greeted his father which gave them a warm welcome. Then, the couple went separate ways since Taehyung was being dragged my his cute little brothers to play with them, while Chaerin was helping to prepare dinner or doing the house chores although Mrs. Kim told her to rest. Her lethargic feeling had gone long ago when she stepped on this house. She loved this place―it's a home for her.
She had dinner with The Kims in joy. Sharing stories at the dining table and laughed if they ever stumble on a funny one, exchanging some jokes as well. Completely different from her past dinners she had with her family―that couldn't be counted as a family dinner even. She barely spent time with her family since her parents were busy doing their works and even if they had one, they would have their phones around them and busy talking to the person on line while eating.
She was always alone, and lonely.
The dinner finished and Chaerin helped to wash the dishes while the others were continuing their own activities.
A smile tugged on her lips all the time, even when cleaning the plates, even when seeing the water coming out from the tap. She cherished all the things that happen inside this house a lot. Even the most unnecessary and small ones. As someone who didn't have a good relationship with her family, it was literal heaven for her.
Arms were coiled on her neck while she was still busy finishing the task. She let out a gasp and jumped a bit, dropping the plate into the sink as the water continued to flow, hands still full with bubbles.
'Chaerin, after you finish, i'll take you somewhere.' The phone screen that hung in between her eyes reads. She loosen up a little bit after recognizing the situation―this was not the first time Taehyung did this to her.
"Taehyung you startled me," she whined. "And where are we going anyway?" She asked and then continued cleaning, not taking a glance of Taehyung's eyes.
A smile formed on his face as he typed the reply. 'To a place that you didn't believe it exists.'
