I turned and saw March standing in the doorway of Jackson's room. I held up the copy of Romeo and Juliet in my hand,

"Practicing for a project in English. I'm in a group with those two."

I gestured to the two teenagers behind me. March laughed in understanding,

"Good luck with that. Those two are a real handful."

I heard Bex scoff in mock hurt and giggled,

"Thanks. We're doing the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet."

March nodded,

"That's a good one. If you need any help lemme know. I'm bored."

I smiled at the ruby haired boy in front of me,

"Will do."

He gave me a smile that held an emotion I couldn't place before he vanished. I spun back around to face the teenage boys,

"Do you guys wanna run through it again since we were interrupted?"

They nodded and we ran the scene a few more times. After about an hour I suggested we take a break. Both teens nodded and led me downstairs to the kitchen,

"Grab whatever you want. No charge."

Bex joked as I headed for the refrigerator and grabbed a red apple before joining the boys in the living room. It was silent for a moment before Jackson spoke,

"So, (Y/N), why'd you have to transfer schools? Changing senior year is unusual."

I froze, not taking a bite from my apple as I fixed my gaze on the floor in front of me. I knew I had to tell them something so I quickly fabricated a reason,

"I had to move from my old house to an apartment here. I lived in an area that is pretty far from here so it wouldn't have been possible to keep going to my old school."

I chose my words carefully as I answered Jackson's question. Suddenly, I felt an intense gaze burning through me. I looked around to find the source and spotted Senri. He was standing in the entryway of the living room, out of Bex and Jackson's sight. His charcoal eyes burned a hole in me. This time I knew what emotion he held in his eyes: doubt. He didn't believe my story and I knew it. I quickly averted my gaze and took a bite from my apple as Bex spoke,

"Why'd you have to move?"

I shrugged before responding in a stoic and distant tone,

"It doesn't matter."

Bex and Jackson exchanged glances, but before they could question me further my cell phone rang. When I answered it, my boss started screaming at me. I held my phone slightly away from my ear as he yelled,

"Ota didn't show up for his shift at 5! Get your ass over here now or you're fired!"

He screeched before hanging up. I looked over at the clock. It was 4:45. I shoved my phone in my pocket before sprinting out of the living room and up the stairs to Jackson's room and grabbed my book bag. As I flew down the stairs I slammed into March hard. I shut my eyes and braced for impact on the wooden floor, but it never came. I cracked my left eye open to see March's face dangerously close to mine as he held me up,

"You alright? What's your hurry?"

He asked with concern. I sighed,

"My boss is being an ass. Someone didn't show up to work so now I have to work double shifts and I probably won't get overtime. I'm sorry I really have to go."
