What a fantastic emotion!
Fills you up
Chokes you down
I'm sorry, ok
But words mean nothing
Parents have a special talent
In making one feel guilty
I don't want to do something right now
Or I didn't get the time
Or I simply forgot
There is no excuse in their world
I have no excuse
They do so much
So much time and money
I'm sorry I cannot live up to that
I'm sorry I put myself first sometimes
I'm sorry I decided what is best for me
I am grateful, honestly
I hope you understand
But they don't
So you are left feeling guilty
Guit runs deep
Seeps through your skin
The cracks between your bones
There is no fire of rage in guilt
Only shame and that morbid feeling
Of helplessness
