Patton was shaking with nervous happiness as he walked toward the library once again. The Hufflepuff was going meet his... boyfriend? He wasn't exactly sure. They'd gone on a few dates and met up to talk in the library often. Yet, what they were still remained a mystery.
As he entered the library, he saw Logan at their usual table. He looked up hopefully as the doors had opened, eyes sparkling with joy as he saw the person he'd been waiting for. He only gave a small smile, being not one for showing too much emotion. The Hufflepuff didn't mind because he was good at reading them; even if Logan didn't say a word, he would be able to tell how he was feeling.
Patton sat down next to the Ravenclaw, smiling wide as he greeted him. "Salutations Patton," he said, straightening his glasses.
"H-Hey," he responded with a blush. Logan smiled a little more, causing him to give a confused look. "What?"
Logan's face flushed as he looked away. "N-Nothing," he managed. Patton frowned, glaring at him.
"Whaaaaat?" he asked exaggerating his voice and clinging to his arm. Logan looked at him, embarrassed.
"I-I was j-just thinking how cute you are that you still seem to get nervous around me," he explained fidgeting with his hands. "Then I remembered I still get nervous around you too and I shouldn't be talking."
Patton giggled, resting his face against Logan's shoulder as he looked up at him. "Well, we can be nervous around each other together," the Hufflepuff said happily. His gaze shifted to the window, seeing snow falling. He gasped, jumping up and grabbing Logan by the hand. "Logan! Look! It's snowing!"
They stumbled into the window, Patton looking at the winter wonderland outside with excitement on his face. The Ravenclaw stared at him, a little confused how someone could get so excited about frozen dihydrogen monoxide, but in awe of how adorable Patton was. He jumped a little when he gasped again. He pointed outside, down in the courtyard below the library window they were standing at. It was empty, except for two people.
"Look! It's Roman and Virgil!" Patton said, voice raised significantly in pitch. "Oh my god Logan, Roman is teaching him how to dance!"
The Ravenclaw smiled warmly at the two of them. They were undeniably adorable, to anyone you might ask. If they said otherwise, they were lying.
An idea struck Logan, eyes widening as he glanced at Patton. "Actually, Patton?" he started, getting the Hufflepuff's attention. "I was wondering... do you want to be my date to the Yule Ball?"
"DO I!?!?" he exclaimed jumping at Logan and wrapping his arms around him. He hugged him tightly smiling so wide his cheeks hurt. "YES!!"
Logan's shocked face turned to one of a smile as he slowly hugged him back. "I'm glad," he murmured, internally jumping for joy. He'd gotten incredible at hiding his emotions and keeping his composure, but that didn't mean he wasn't subject to them.
They pulled away smiling at each other. Patton stopped through, furrowing his eyebrows together. "What are we?" he asked, looking confused.
"What do you mean?" the Ravenclaw replied. Patton bit his lip.
"Well we go on dates, we hang out a lot, and now I'm your date to the ball," he listed off on his fingers. "What does this make us?"
"Patton, I believe the term you're looking for is boyfriends," Logan said, taking his hand. Patton's gaze brightened, as did his smile.
"Really?!" the Hufflepuff asked. Logan nodded, leaning in close enough to brush noses with him.
"Yes Patton, really," he murmured. Patton was still for a moment, not saying anything. "What is it-"
Logan couldn't finish his question because Patton's lips we on his. It was short and sweet kiss, not even long enough for him to respond to. When the Hufflepuff pulled away, both of their faces were red.
"That..." Logan tried to find the words. "That... was my first kiss..."
The Ravenclaw looked at the ground with embarrassment. Patton smiled, holding his chin with his hand and pulled him to look at him. "What did you think of it?" he asked with a giggle.
Logan slowly smiled, sliding his arms around Patton's waist. "I think I want another one."
