Meredith, Captain Of The Kaylor Ship

I've always been a curious little cat, trailing behind the human who feeds me

They call her Taylor, but I call her mom, since, you know, she feeds me (not enough, might I add)

"Mer want some tuna?" The short human asks and I resist the urge to roll my eyes

I'm a cat, of course I'm going to eat tuna

"Meow" I reply and she does that thing where she shows her teeth at me, I think humans call it smiling, I'm not sure

She takes the tuna and places it in my bowl

"There you go Mer" the human says, petting my head

I happily eat the tuna when the human speaks again

"Karlie is coming over Mer! I'm so excited"

I meow in reply and she squeals, picking me up making me hiss softly

"Oh Mer I just want her to be mine" she mumbles into my furry body

So if the Karlie human mates with my mom, mom will leave me alone?

The thought makes me purr and I can feel her showing her teeth against me

The doorbell rings and she drops me to the floor, luckily I catch my footing and hiss at her

The door opens and that tall human mom wants to mate with enters

They wrap their arms around each other in a strange grip I don't know

"Hey Tay" she mumbles and mom smiles, yes, I've come to the conclusion they call it smiling

"Hey Kar" mom mumbles

"Where's Mer? I have a present for her"

As soon as I hear my name I stroll to the tall human and rub against her leg

"Hey fluffball" Karlie cooes picking me up and kissing my head

"Purr" is all that comes out when she pats my head, running her long fingers through my fur

She walks to the couch and sits down; I jump onto her lap and she laughs as mom takes a seat next to me

"Mer likes you" mom mumbles and Karlie smiles down at me as she continues to stroke me

"Where's Livia?" Karlie asks and I hiss softly

Karlie is my tall human I think to myself as Olivia pats toward us and jumps onto mom's lap

Karlie laughs and strokes behind my ears making me purr and mom let's out a huff getting up

"Want something?" She asks Karlie coldly and my little cat brain registers what's happening

Mom is jealous that I like Karlie more.. or maybe she's scared I'll mate with Karlie

Immediately I jump off of Karlie's lap and trail behind mom as she walks to the kitchen

I jump on the counter and stare at my mom

"What do you want Mer?" She whispers scaring me and making me fear my nine lives "You already got Karlie" she hisses

I meow apologetically and she glares at me

"I can't believe you would do this to me! You know how I feel about her Mer!"

I hang my head in furry shame

"Tay, Mer?" The tall human asks entering the kitchen

Seeing mom upset she immediately wraps her arms around mom

"Tay what's wrong?" She asks mom and mom sends me a death glare

Karlie groans and stares at me with disapproval

"What did you break this time Meredith?"

I just meow and hang my head in shame again

"My heart" mom mutters

Karlie's worms above her eyes comes together in what I think humans call confusion

"I'm not following" the tall human mumbles

"Don't worry" mom mutters and storms off to her music room

Karlie stared at me in shock before trailing after mom

I padded silently behind standing outside the door

Mom was strumming her guitar muttering words

I liked you but you liked her more

Karlie looked down at me

"Mer, is this about us?"

I nodded my head and sighed

"It's time I tell her how I feel right Mer?"

I nodded my head and she gave me a smile

"If Tay hates me afterwards I'll still have you, right?"

"Meow" I mumble

Karlie breathes out before entering the room

"Tay you're being ridiculous you know I like you more than Meredith"

A paw goes to my heart

Ouch.

Mom sniffs not turning to look at Karlie

"That's not what it looks like" she says coldly

Karlie takes a deep breath

"Meredith's not the girl I love Taylor"

Mom looks at Karlie with hopeful eyes

"She's not?" She mumbles and Karlie shakes her head no with a small smile

"Don't get me wrong I love Mer... But not as much as I love you Tay"

There's silence and I sigh

Humans are so dramatic when they mate

Mom smiles

"You love me more than Mer"

Karlie smiles back at mom

"Yes"

Their lips meet and I stroll off knowing they were going to mate now
