"so if i'm hearing correctly, you want me to befriend bianca and luke?"

"you're hearing correctly yup," calum sighs. "i don't want you to be friends with them, they're dangerous. but how else are we going to find my murderer?"

"i don't know check the police station?"

"ella, are you kidding me? you can just ask them for this kind of information and you cant look at it yourself, that's illegal."

"i don't want to be nice to them; i hate feeling fake."

he smiled, and the little crinkles in his eyes were showing. "you're so cute."

she smiles at him brightly, blushing slightly. "this is so weird."

"what's so weird?"

"feeling this way about someone who's supposed to be dead."

"feeling what way?" he steps closer to her.

"i don't even know the feeling, if we're being honest."

he sighs. "i hear footsteps. bianca's coming here."

"what? why?"

"i don't know," he shrugs. "but try to be nice. befriend her. i won't let her do anything to you, even as a dead boy."

"bye, cal," ella giggles softly.

"bye, baby," he smiles and vanishes.

as if on cue, there's a heavy knock on the door.

"who is it?" ella pretends to be oblivious.

"it's bianca, can we talk?"

ella opens up the door and smiles at bianca. "sure, what do you want to talk about?"

"michael clifford."

"why does that name sort of ring a bell?" ella fakes.

"it should. you were childhood best friends with him."

"how would you know that?"

"i know a lot of things, ella, i'm not stupid."

"well, he was a childhood. i honestly don't remember him at all, though."

"see, that's where you're lying again."

"look, i don't remember him at all. and i don't appreciate that my neighbour walks into my apartment and accuses me of being a liar."

"oh, sweetheart," bianca pouts. "i'm not calling you a liar. i'm just saying you're lying to me."

"liste here, bianca. i don't remember michael fucking clifford."

"just think harder, he'll pop into mind."

"but he won't."

"just think about him, ella," and she walks out, closing the door behind her.
