Season of Change

36 11 14

Leaves sail to fulfill their destiny

merging into a shimmering sea.

A champagne ocean floor

conjured only annually.

Rusting trees whisper gently

secrets from eons ago.

The mischievous breeze

broadcasts it like a talk show.

The chestnut bones are laid bare

as greenery undress to reveal it all.

Unabashed by future uncertain

strong to survive any Fall.
