chapter thirty please slap me
I hugged Phil as I walked out of their flat. Me and Oli had been staying there for a couple days as some paperwork got processed. This time we don't plan on getting kicked out of the country, so Oli is now officially an American citizen. His flat has been sold, and I called an old friend who shipped all our things over. Then my mom put most of our stuff in the house, leaving a few things in boxes so now we just have to move into our house.
The house is a three bedroom, two bath little home a few miles from campus, made of red bricks. Honestly it's adorable. Anyhow, today we fly out to it. The plan is to get there around 6 am, go to the house for a bit, and then go visit Chai. On another note, not much has happened in the war. I think we are waiting for the other to mess up, but neither one of us plans to do anything. Well.. there is one thing. Chai says that Lily has taking a Liking to their roommate James, so to be honest that might be major.
I guess Chai is staying on my old room, Mariel has the guest bedroom, and James is staying on the couch in my old office. I feel like the roommate thing is a trick, but it's whatever. Me and Oli have plans to make the master bedroom ours, then there will be a guest bedroom, and the last one will be like a combined office and/or activity center. The prospect of roommates is slim for us, considering that I don't want people to know we moved. It will just make me appear desperate for attention and that would make me sound like a wannabe David Dobrik.
Dan and Phil drove us to the airport, in Oli's old car that he gave to them. They dropped us off at the entrance, from which I had to comfort Phil into letting us go. We waved goodbye to them and walked through the doors to get on our flight
----------------------------------------------------
When we got back to the states it was almost three in the morning, I guess Oli didn't calculate the time difference as well as I had thought. I suppose I should have done it myself if I wanted it done right, but it's chill. Chai drove by and picked us up, but I had to take over driving. I guess he doesn't have a license yet, and he didn't want to get a ticket. We left the airport and drove into the myriad of corn fields that is Indiana.
We drove for hours and hours until we finally got to me and Oli's house. Chai decided to stay the night, considering he was too tired to go home. We all sat on the couch and played Clue until we fell asleep. To be honest it was amazing, I love when we do things like this.
By the time everyone had woken up it was almost noon, so we all headed out. Classes don't start for a week, so we still have time to do whatever. I got into the car and started the engine, the boys groggily sitting in he back. The drive took about an hour to get where I wanted to go. That destination being Ashlynn's place. It's nothing fancy, but I didn't want her to be out of the loop of things.
I drove to Lily's and parked the car, considering it's not mine. I guess she is selling the Land Rover so that sucks. I'll get a car of my own soon, though. Then I realized that this is my only form of transportation, so I parked it in the alleyway of the liquor store and Ashlynn's place. we walked in and a girl I don't know escorted us to the table. I smiled, thanked her, and sat down with Oli and Chai. After all this time I still have no clue about what this place is named, its always just been Ashlynn's place.
The girl ran to talk to Ashlynn who came over when she saw us. "So are you guys married or nah" she asked immediately. I stared her down and she stared right back. I sighed and said "I don't know, Ash, I don't know." She laughed as a waitress ran over with a pizza. "By the way," she started. "It's Skye now." I took account of this as we devoured the pizza. for once I do mean devoured; I haven't eaten since the boys' house.
We started walking home as I noticed the last person I wanted to walking towards me.
