Y/N was a half-blood, and proud of it. She argued that, being a half-blood meant that you get the best of both worlds- which she took complete advantage of, reading all the best muggle books (she had recently become obsessed with The Hunger Games) and watching the best films and TV shows (Miranda was one of her favorites), but also eating chocolate frogs and liquorice wands, as well as casting spells to make life that massive amount more interesting. Being a Ravenclaw and meant she was always working on new spells she had found in books in the library.
She was on her way back from Defence Against the Dark Arts and was on the way to potions, the only lesson where she was forced to sit next to Pansy Parkinson, the biggest bitch of the whole school. It was no secret that her hatred for her rivaled that of her hatred for Umbridge, who was currently wrecking the school that she had grown up in. She was glad to have got out of DADA fast so that there was no time to talk about her newly earned detention with Umbridge. She wasn't very secretive about detesting her either.
Potions was sometimes fairly good. Aside from Pansy's constant taunting and provoking, she usually enjoyed creating the potions. She was usually partnered with her best friend, Spring, who was also in Ravenclaw. However, this lesson would be different. Upon arrival, she was pushed past with a florish of her wand, by Professor Umbridge, dressed in her usual 'nothing but pink' with her tiny wand pointed straight ahead. Heading towards an (as usual) call looking Snape, she said in her sing-song voice that sounded like a frog singing, "I shall be observing and questioning you during this class, Professor Snape. Do not act any different to usual. Just pretend I'm not here."
Y/N rolled her eyes at Umbridge's lack of common sense that was shown in her little speech, and sat down in her usual seat, greeted with a glare from Parkinson, which she returned immediately.
The lesson began. They were doing Strengthening Potion, which Y/N had mastered weeks ago, so the lesson was slowly becoming more and more boring. With the addition of Pansy's constant annoyingness, the lesson was one of the worst of the day.
Snape seemed to drone on and on for ages, until, finally, the class was dismissed. She immediately packed up her stuff and ran out of the classroom, only to stumble over and fall head first into a very visable brick wall that she had failed to see. She put out her hand to stop her head from making contact with the wall, but it never reached it.
She opened her eyes and saw an arm that had snaked around her waist to stop her falling. Following the arm up to the shoulder, then to the head, her blue eyes made contact with a pair of silvery grey ones. Draco Malfoy' s eyebrows scrunched up in concern.
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine!" Y/N answered, in her usually loud, confident voice.
Draco smirked. "Good, that was quite a fall. Did you not notice the big brick wall in front of you?"
Y/N's eyes narrowed. "Of course I did, nitwit. I'm not an idiot!"
"Yeah, of course you did." Draco said, still smirking. She could feel her face heating up. She wrenched his arm from around her waist and stood up straight, trying and failing to act like her face didn't look like a tomato.
"My eyesight is certainly better than yours. How long now have you been searching for Potter's secret society, or whatever you want to call it? And you still haven't seen anything worth reporting, have you?"
With that, she turned and walked away towards a gaping Spring, Luna and Hermione, who were defiantly going to interrogate her about her odd behaviour. Odd because it was known to them all of her massive crush on the platinum blonde Slytherin.- Winter
