Try to be as detailed as possible!! If you answer with just a sentence that your character says, you just look bored or not excited for the rp.
For example:
(This is how I do it)
Me: here's the drink you asked for! *smiles at him, setting the tray down* enjoy!! *bows head slightly*
Them: thank you
Like...what is that. Just a simple 'thank you' ...? It's better to reply like this:
Them: *smiles back at her* thank you so much, ma'am! *nods head at her*
See? Looks way more polite!
