Deserving

you never deserved to see my body.

you ridicule me behind my back,

sour words dripping from your lips,

into the ears of eager boys.

you have taken my body

and

drowned it in lies.

you have tried to destroy the temple

that is all mine.

made strong with my hands of steel and cast iron heart.

you have tried to burn the forests,

that grow within me,

to set fire to the lush, green leaves that fill me.

you have tried to pull the flowers

from the garden in me,

yanking at my beautiful petals with your grubby, dirty hands.

you never deserved to see the

palace,

that is

my body.
