When Emile woke up the next
morning, it felt like a normal day, just like every other. But it was deceiving her just a little.

Emile got out of bed and began to get ready, just like she would every morning. She straightened her shoulder length hair and did her makeup.

Reyna would come into her room and get ready beside her. Both would eat breakfast when they were finished. Then they would go their separate ways in their separate cars but would always come home to each other at the end of each day.

The day at school started normally for Emile. Each class had an assignment for the students to do and in her English class, they had an assignment to do in pairs. A new student had come into school that day but he had come in late. At first, Emile hadn't noticed but soon people were talking and whispering in the hallways about him.

She couldn't help but overhear a conversation between two little sophmores.

"He is so hot!" One had told her friend beside her, gawking at the new kid as he walked down the halls. He held nothing in his hands but a grey backpack slung over his right shoulder as he strode down the halls of their small school.

"Do you think he'd fuck me?" The second sophmore giggled. The girl pulled her crop top down so her little cleavage was showing. Her shorts were so short that her butt was hanging out of them. Younger kids always seemed so immature to Emile and she couldn't help but walk up to them and say something.

"I don't want to be rude but aren't you a little too young and immature to be thinking about dating? Especially a senior you don't know?" Her words came out softly but smoothly.

"Well aren't you pathetic? Where'd you get your clothes, the Gap?" Her tone was mocking and rude.

"At least I try and cover up. Desperation isn't a good look on anyone," Emile defended herself.

The blonde haired girl just stood there as the two sophmores pushed passed her and continued to giggle, their voices heard from down the hallways.

By the time Emile looked back to the empty hall, the new guy was gone and it was just her there.

"Shit!" Emile exclaimed. She had dropped all her things on the floor and had began to pick them up when another pair of hands started to help her speed up the process so she wouldn't be late getting home.

"Hello," Emile looked up from her face upon the pair of tan hands that had helped her.

"I'm Luke. Luke Avila," She had finally come face to face with the new boy in school. He held out his hand for Emma to shake and she politely shook it.

"Emile Adler. Are you new?" She asked curiously. Of course she knew he was because she had seen him roaming the halls earlier. The two sophmores who were gawking had been batting their fake eyelashes at this boy. Luke was his name.

Emile really couldn't blame the girls for staring. This boy was gorgeous. He was like a god that had been sent to earth.

"Yeah my family just moved here yesterday actually. Have I seen you somewhere before?" His face showed confusion as he tried to figure it out.

"Maybe in the hallways?" She offered.

"Are you the one that talked to those two girls today about being too young to be dating and how they were too desperate? That was hilarious!"

Luke threw his head back and the whole hallway was vibrating with the sound of his laughter. It was a musical sound and Emile took a particular liking to it immediately.

"You heard that huh?" She was embarrassed that he had to see that.

"I had to get away to laugh so no one would think I'm weirder than they say I am," His face saddened and Emile could instantly tell that he knew the feeling all too well.

"Have you moved around a lot?" Emile asked.

"A ton as a kid and a little bit more now since me and my sister are older," He's new and he has a sister, Emile thought to herself.

"Sister? Our age?" She asked once again.

"A year younger. She's a junior this year. Her name is Leah," He told her. Sister who's younger, they're new in town, and they've moved around a lot. Bingo. He and his family were the ones talked about in the rumors Emile paid no attention to. Until now. He peaked her interest.

"Shit, I gotta go," Emile checked the time on the clock above Luke's head. It read three forty one which meant Emile had to go home and feed her dog and herself before her mom got home. Her aunt was coming into town so she had to be home when she got there.

"Are you sure? Can I least get your number before you go?" Luke tried.

"I'm sorry! I'll see you tomorrow?" She asked lamely. Then she bolted out of the side doors before he had a chance to answer. She left him there without even a thank you for helping her clean up her stuff that had fallen on the floor.

Emile rushed to her jeep and then she was on her way home to greet her Aunt Steph if her aunt had arrived.

Aunt Steph and Reyna had been close growing up since they were only two years apart, Aunt Steph being the older sister of the two.

Aunt Steph lived with her husband, Scott in Tennessee in somewhat isolation. All four of their children were grown and moved out and her oldest daughter Selena was married and already had four children of her own.

Emile was excited that she was finally coming to visit her and Reyna. Neither of the two had seen her in at least a year.

Out of all Reyna's siblings, Stephanie was her third favorite. Although Steph was extremely religious and held different beliefs than the rest of her family, that didn't stop them from bonding. Her second favorite was Reyna's youngest sister, Isabella. The both of them had the same sense of humor and it was easy for Emile to talk to Isabella.

Emile went to sleep that night thinking about her aunts at first... and then a certain blonde boy wormed his way into the depths of her sub concious as she slipped away into dream land.
