My title choice tho.
Ally POV:
Dark, we need to talk about what the fuck just happened.
I'm sorry I didn't elaborate earlier. It's all a little, hard to explain.
All I'm asking you to do is try.
He sighs.
Well, I've got this "condition" called bloodlust. It's rare among demons, but... basically, if I don't... kill somebody every once-in-a-while, it forces me to take control and... I can hardly do anything to stop it. I always try to tone it down for everyone's sake, but it's got a mind of its own.
Oh my god Dark. Why didn't you tell me sooner?
That's personal. I'd rather not talk about it.
...alright, if you insist."Earth to Ally?"
"Jack, please don't wave your hand in front of my face."
"Sorry. Mark filled me and Anti in on what happened."
I could tell Dark wasn't too comfortable about that.
"I wanted to know if you two were ok." Oh, makes sense."I'm fine. A little dizzy, but I'll pull out of it eventually. No major injuries." I report.
"Ya sure you'll be fine? I feel bad you had to witness that." Heh heh, classic Jack. Always feeling sorry about everything.
"I didn't see anything that happened, I only heard it. But yeah, I'm sure. I'll be fine."
"Alright."
I was honestly tired. But I didn't want Jack to worry about that. I can cope with it after what happened.
I hear Dark mumbling something. Wonder what he's-
Look, I don't want to talk about it!!
Well fine! Be that way.Still. It's worrying. You didn't tell me about that, and I could barely do anything against it. I wish you'd had told me sooner.
He said nothing about it.
I can respect that. Even if I am a little worried.
The others were trying to figure something out, but I couldn't hear what it was.Ya know what?
What?
I might as well tell you if this is how it's going to be for now.
Tell me about what?
Hold on a second. It would be easier for me if I did this.I ended up passing out from exhaustion, and coming around in my Mindscape. Dark was sitting dejectedly off to the side.
I walked over and sat down next to him.
"You okay?""Not exactly." For some reason, he refused to make eye contact with me.
"Like I said, I've never really been the kind of demon who possesses other people's bodies.""So you're... Not really used to all of this?"
"No, I'm not. But that's not what I wanted to talk to you about."
"Then what was it?"
It was obvious to me he was fighting with himself. But what about?"It's... another thing that's hard to explain. But..." He held his head in his hands, as if he had a headache.
"Sorry, my bloodlust hasn't completely gone away yet. I'm not about to hurt anyone, but it's still there." A lot of understanding hit my face.
"Anyway...""Dark, are you ok? Your hand is twitching."
"I'll be fine. But can you let me finish?!" Rage filled his face, the twitching (left) hand went as if about to punch.
"Sorry!" I say really quickly, fearfully. His expression softens, he lowers his left hand and clutches his head with the other.
"Agh. Apologies. Stupid bloodlust..." He mumbled.
"It's fine. You just caught me off guard, that's all, Dark."
"...Ally?"
"What?"
"Can you promise me you can keep what I am about to tell you a secret? I haven't even told Mark the whole story behind it."
"Promise." I did the whole 'cross my heart', thing across my chest.
"My name... it's not Dark. It's Damien. And I would prefer it if you, and only you, called me that."
And cue the return of my confusion.
