Rwby fan fic: the beginning

Cold

(After the fight with Weiss and the armour)

'White is cold and always yearning, burdened by the royal touch'

---Weiss---

"Weiss, you were injured. you are still weak. train more and do this family proud" I looked down at my hands, blood dripping from the wound to my left eye, "of course, father" we left the ball room, he headed to his study while I to find my maid.

"Kathleen, are you here?" I asked as I knocked on her bedroom door, "come in dear" I heard her soft reply, I walked in the room and spotted her on her bed, she had become sickly lately and it was really worrying to see. "Kathleen how are you feeling?" I asked worriedly, she had become more pail since I last saw her. "oh I'm fine dear, but look at you. come here I'll fix that wound for you" I went and sat on the bed after grabbing the first aid kit.

After she had cleaned my wound up she sighed, "I'm sorry honey, but this is going to leave a scar" I put my hand up to my now covered eye. "that's alright, it will be a reminder as to what being weak is like" she smiled sadly at me, "don't believe everything your father tells you Weiss, because you my dear are not weak in the least"

I smiled and gave her a hug. "now Weiss listen to me, I don't have much time left in this world,
I will soon be joining your mother. to watch over you. when I leave you may have this" Kathleen put a small pocket mirror in my hand, "but Kathleen, this... this was your sisters" I looked at her tears streaming down my cheeks. her sister had been taken by the creatures of Grimm at a very young age.

"Yes, and now I want you to have it. Weiss you are never alone, and if you ever feel like you are, look at that mirror and remember that me and your mother are always by your side" she smiled at me but then slowly fell back to her bed.

"Kathleen?.... Kathleen... KATHLEEN" her beautiful silver eyes were now dull and lifeless. the one person that I had left was now gone forever. I tightened my grip on the mirror, never once letting go.
