Happy Birthday, P'Pha!

"Happy birthday Pha!" Forth said as he hugged the other.

"Happy birthday Pha!" Kit and Beam cheered in unison as they put the gifts that they prepared on Phana's bed. Phana looked at the gifts and smiled widely. He quickly took the gifts and opened it one by one.

"Aww!!! This is nice! Thank you!" Phana beamed as he looked at all the gifts he got from his friends. Ming had given him a nice black leather jacket and Kit had given him a matching black leather pants. Meanwhile, Forth gave him a biography of his favourite surgeon, and Beam complimented his boyfriend's gift with his own, a nice set of surgical tolls which includes scalpel, dissecting knife and forceps. Both of them hoped that Phana will continue to pursue his dreams of becoming a surgeon one day.

Phana thanked all of his friends. Clearly he was touched by his friends' support, including Ming and Forth too. He couldn't held his wide smile as they celebrated the whole day, eating nice birthday treats as well as drinking nice beverages. Beam had baked his famous Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake and Kit had brought along Phana's favourite snacks, chocolate chip cookies.

They talked and they laughed, they joked and they bantered. The mood was really festive, and everyone almost forgot that they were in a hospital, and that Phana was sick. They haven't had this much fun together wver since Wayo's death, and Kit and Beam personally think that they should have more of this kind of days to distract Phana from thinking about Wayo.

The truth is, Phana's depression is getting worse from day to day. Often Kit and Beam caught Phana talking alone, and occasionally he whined lovingly as in he was talking and joking with Wayo. Phana kept on murmuring Wayo's name in his sleep as well. Phana's used to have a well built body l, but now he is becoming skinnier and skinnier every week. He eats lesser and lesser, claiming that he was already full. His skin is ashen white now, and his cheek bones are prominent, making his sunken cheeks extremely noticeable.

Due to his hallucination as well as his earing disorder, Beam and Kit kept a very close eyes on him, monitoring him every 3 hours. They would force him to eat when it is time, and they always kept Phana's activities in check, even when Phana was asleep. Beam and Kit even made an alternate schedule each night so that Phana won't be left alone without supervision. They are very determined to help Phana to heal.

However, every good thing will finally comes to an end. The ending of Phana's birthday celebration marked the day Phana's symptoms to worsen.

Right after they finished celebrating, Beam stayed in the hospital to do his work and to kept his eyes on Phana. He made sure that Phana slept soundly that night, before he went to have some rest. But Beam had fallen asleep in his rest due to exhaustion.

"P'Pha, wake up. P'Pha!" A soft voice calling Phana sweetly, stirring Phana from his deep slumber.

"Nong Yo! You've come!" Phana said as he sat up straight.

"Of course I do! Happy birthday P'Pha! I love you with alk my heart and my soul." Wayo said as he pulled out a box from his pocket and took out a small box. He then gave Phana a peck on his lips before he put the box on Phana's palm.

"Oh baby. You shouldn't have to give me anything!" Phana cooed as he hugged his Wayo tightly.

"It's okay. Besides, I really want you to have it. It's my way of saying how much I love you. I hope we can be together forever." Wayo replied shyly as he leaned his head onto Phana's shoulder.

"Can I open it?" Phana asked nervously. He was getting jitters to see what was in the box.

"Of course. I bought it special for you." Wayo said sweetly. "Go on." He urged Phana to open the box.

Phana nodded and quickly removed the lid of the box. Inside the box, there were two identical bracelet. Phana smiled when he looked at the bracelet. It was just a simple black bracelet, with a strip of metal on it. No carvings and no writings. But Phana liked it a lot.

He smiled as he took the bracelet and put it on Wayo's hands. He slipped it slowly through Wayo's hand while looking at Wayo's eyes deeply.

"Let us stay together until the end, naa." Phana whispered softly, but loud enough for Wayo to hear. He nodded and gave Phana a wide smile.

Phana then took another bracelet and slowy he slipped it into his hands. He couldn't contain his smile as the bracelet slipped through his hands, before a loud scream startled him.

The bracelet dropped down the floor with a clanking sound as Beam rushed towards him in panic.

He looked at Beam, then he noticed a slight pain coming from his wrist before he saw blood dripping out from his wrist. Then he looked at the bracelet in the floor, only to find the bracelet gone, replaced with the dissecring knife that Beam had gifted him.

I also have received a tremendous amount of comment about this story. Most of you guys are really sad of the facts that wayo died. I totally underunderstand the sadness that you felt, and believe me when I say that it saddens me to write this story as well.

In my defence, I know that this story is really heavy the moment I thought about it. But then, why not? I want to challenge myself as a writer, and here it is. I know that i will receive a lotof different reactions from my readers, and I am forever grateful that you even bother to read my story.

The thing is, I really wanted to show how much love can change a person, and how much love can make a person become restless and tortured too. I want my readers to feel Pha's pure love to Yo, and to feel his grieve that he lost Yo, his world. I am glad that some of you could see that.

This story is about to finish already, so no worries. However, to ease your mind, for those of you who liked my style of writings, feel free to read my original romance story called Between Rain and Snow (which also took place in Thai, no worries) and please wait for an upcoming 2Moons fics as well (I am currently writing the 1st chapter already).
