The long road home

And they saw .....
Lots of soldiers standing near the gates of the city and soldiers arresting poor people.It was terrifying.They sneaked out of the house to Simon's fish shack and quickly sneaked into the staff room where Simon was sitting and writing something.Simon noticed us and said in a very low voice"kids you better get out of here if soldiers notice you ,you will become slaves."Kaylee said to Simon "we want to escape and find our mom...if she's alive" Simon thought for a second and said "there is a secret path way somewhere near the gate but be careful if a soldier spots you ,you have two choices to die or to be slaves your whole life .Any way is bad so good luck." .Kylee asked Simon"are there any houses or small tree houses in the woods so we can live in?".Simon took something from his shelf and said "there are no tree houses or houses but I have a better thing for you,a secret amulet that will lead you to your mom if you ask it".he gave the amulet and Kaylee whispered in the amulet "I want you to lead me to my mommy".The amulet started shining and it started leading the way "thanks Simon "shouted Kaylee behind her .Rob started following her and they ended up being infront of the city gate.There were lots of soldiers standing near the gate but then Kaylee remembered that there is a secret pathway near the gate but where?Rob started looking for the pathway and Kaylee was looking at the soldiers so they won't spot Rob .After a few minutes Rob called Kaylee because he found the path way .They carefully opened the door and went in but then Kaylee noticed that the amulet is far ahead of them.They started running and cought up with it.Then it led them into a beautiful park.Rob started complaining "I wanna eat ".Kaylee sat down on the grass and Rob sat near her .She opened her bag and saw a letter .She opened the letter and it read:

Dear Kaylee and Rob,
Beware of the shadow souls in the woods .I can help you find your mom but you should give me something in return.Follow the yellow path into the woods and then find a tree with a hole inside it .climb the tree and you'll see your mom.

Kaylee got frozen."where did this letter come from?".Rob took the letter and read it fast.After he said"I-im not hungry anymore.I-i think there is one way to find out if everything is real.lets just go follow the yellow path..."Rob said. They stood up and started following the yellow path until they went in the forest"it's creepy here"said Rob .
