Cutting Strings

Chapter 6 ● Obstacle

"Why are you so busy recently?" Taeyeon whines in a cutesy voice. Her left hand holds the phone to his ear and her other hand twirling her long black hair.

She hears her boyfriend chuckles, "Lots of things happened. Wanna meet tomorrow?" He says from the other side of the line. She knows she can't ask what things happened, it must be the gang business.

Nevertheless, Taeyeon squeaks happily. She hasn't gone dating with her boyfriend for almost a week and she starts to miss him. It's funny how they are in the same place but rarely meet each other.

"I'll take that as a yes" he concludes with a laugh.

Taeyeon jumps on her bed when she hears her dorm door thrown open. She sees Tiffany, and what alarms her is the tears falling down her pure eyes.

"Oh shit baby, I gotta talk to you later. Tiffany is crying." Taeyeon says suddenly, jumping out of her bed.

"What..." She cut the phone line before he can asks. Taeyeon throws her phone to the bed and then rushes to her bestfriend's side.

Tiffany cries silently, big, fat, tears racing down her cheeks.

Taeyeon takes her hand and pulls her inside, guiding Tiffany until she sit on her bed. "Wait here" Taeyeon says and then lock her room door from inside.

"Thank God my roommate is out" she comments when she finally sit beside Tiffany. "Now what happened?" Taeyeon finally asks, her right hand patting Tiffany's head softly.

Tiffany let loose. She tells her everything. How Sehun asked her to be friends with benefit, how she is afraid of falling for him, her curiosity of Nichkhun, Taehyung's asked for help, until when she saw Sehun at the library.

Taeyeon shuts her mouth throughout her bestfriend's outburst. She only listen carefully. She knows how sensitive Tiffany actually is, but tries to hide it by looking like she doesn't care.

And when Tiffany ends her story with a big sob Taeyeon pulls her into a hug. She doesn't care if Tiffany's tears ruin her favorite pajamas.

"I'm sorry I just tell you all this boo" Tiffany whispers to Taeyeon's chest, snuggling closer.

Taeyeon rubs her back with her hands, calming her down "it's okay. I know the burden you carry"

Tiffany can't help but cry again, this time feeling happy that she get a bestfriend like the girl who is hugging her.

"Well, Oh Sehun is an asshole, now we know that" Taeyeon finally puts her opinion in. Tiffany gets out of her arms to sit straighter and look at her bestfriend's face.

"This Sehun guy, dump him. No matter how good his dick is" Taeyeon shakes her head, warning Tiffany with her eyes. The brunette nods her head.

Taeyeon puts out two fingers "Secondly- this is what I want to discuss -Nichkhun. Do you feel dissapointed of breaking up with him?"

Tiffany slowly shakes her head. She lets out a long sigh, "No, I don't think so, but I think I just can't ignore him. I still care about him" she knows she is. She can't stop thinking what Nichkhun did when he went to the hotel. Drink? Meeting a girl? Searching for her?

"What about Dongwook Oppa's question. What if he did bring a girl?"

Taeyeon's question makes her heart skips a beat, just like when Dongwook asked her. "I might get jealous" she whisper but Taeyeon can hear her perfectly.

"It's hard to get out of long relationship" Taeyeon admits and her bestfriend nods in agreement.
