Cool Metal and Small Pills

shining and glowing
the vibrant stainless steel
drawing pictures of crimson paint
upon a pale olive canvas.

a sweet symphony
completed by one person
notes played upon a pale instrument
as notes the color of sin
spill out
played by a bow of silver gleam
stained by years of use

pills.
maybe good.
maybe bad.
side effects.
nausea.
drowsiness.
DEATH.

I received a bouquet today.
it said it was from a "friend."
I opened it up.
a beautiful arrangement of..
pink.
blue.
green.
yellow.
white.
small pills.
perfectly aligned.
perfectly timed.
I know the friend.
the friend is depression.
and depression just gave me an idea.
I'll take them all.
