"Why are you wearing costumes?" Kimberly muttered under her breath, the young girl was sitting beside both Will Byers and Mike Wheeler who were dressed as two of the Ghostbusters. "Why are you NOT wearing costumes?" Interfered Dustin from behind. Maybe it was a complete nightmare that she was surrounded by the core four of the nerds during the rest of Math, but maybe it was also a nice time to actually get in touch with them.

"Because wearing Halloween costumes to school kind of ran out of style ever since seventh grade."

"That was also the same year you left us for the cooler clique," Mike mumbled, trying to keep things quiet yet Kimberly still managed to hear what Mike had to say about her.

Kimberly furrowed her brows and pursed her lips, "I certainly did not leave you."

"Yes you did--"

"You guys left me."

The girl spoke before Mike could even finish his sentence. "You guys left me, you told me nothing about Will's disappearance, about Barb, you guys left me hanging. You left me behind."

It all happened last year when Kimberly seemed to be left out in everything Mike and his gang had to do, "I was supposed to be your Scribe but you left me behind."

"This conversation is too depressing for me to continue."

Mike looked away, putting his attention back to the lecture, the section of the class grew uncomfortably quiet and all Kimberly did was fiddle with her fingers.

The painful truth is everything that Kimberly had said were not lies. They had left her, forgot about her and never really telling about the incident despite her asking multiple times.

Kimberly choked back the tears, successfuly being able to control herself from breaking down.

"Friends don't lie."

Kimberly muttered under her breath, closing her eyes disappointedly.

This was the first time in many years Kimberly Holland had not celebrated Halloween. She doubted that the two of her friend groups would let her tag along.

The young girl was in fact home alone, every light in the house was dimmed and she sat on the couch of their living room, waiting for her parents to come home.

A bowl of candies and chocolates sat on the table in front of her, Kimberly's job tonight was to just lend trick or treaters candy. The only light that were on was a small table lamp that sat beside the bowl.

She sat on the couch, laying down peacefully with The Smiths playing in her ears.

It didn't take a while that someone had knocked, and in about four trick or treaters, she opened the door once again with the bowl of candy lying in her hands.

Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas and Maxine Mayfield stood in front of her yet only Max and Dustin were only the ones who had greeted her.

"Trick or treat!" The two said in unison.

Kimberly looked at them with tear glazed eyes, keeping it subtle and making sure not to cry. "Here, nerds." She said, smiling sadly. Putting three to five candy to each of their bags, before closing the door slowly.

The moment the door was close, Kimberly muttered under her breath.

"I kind of get it now. They replaced me."
