Deadly Together (Daniel x David)

~Chapter 1~

David's PoV

I couldn't help but stare at the beautiful green diamond on my ring finger with a smile of adoration. There was nothing more that i needed to ask for, i had everything i could ever want or need. I had Max as a wonderful son, and i was about to have Daniel as my wonderful husband. How on earth could life get any sweeter than this? I had everything i'd ever wanted and needed right here with me.

Daniel had popped the question about a month ago, in the park. I still remember it all as clear as day. How he'd sent me on a little hint that night, leading me right to him. How i entered the park and read a note that was hand written by my knight in white armour himself. How turned around, and he knelt down on one knee...

The look on his face when he did it, how hopeful he seemed, i felt myself instantly begin to cry, a definite yes was in order. My heart fluttered like i'd never felt before as he slid the ring on, and i found myself tackling him in a warm hug, completely falling in love with him all over again. I adored him, and i'd never let him or Max go. I found happiness in where i found myself with my new family, and i'd do anything for them.

I felt gentle arms snake around my waist and i grinned a little, as i felt a small kiss get planted on my neck.

"What are you doing outside love? It's late and it's getting cold out," Daniel said quietly. I looked up at the stars, light and fluffy clouds looming over them here and there as the moon shone right through them, putting a glamorous ghostly glow to Daniel's skin as i looked over at him. I chuckled, breathing out a small bit of air and watching as the frost faded in the chilly night air.

"I know," i said, laying my head back and onto his shoulder, "Just thinking," i responded quietly. He hummed in response, his hands traveling down to my waist until i felt his hands rest there comfortably. I felt his now cold hands trace lightly over my bare skin and i shivered unwillingly at the contact, goosebumps appearing on my skin. He chuckled warmly.

"Are you just cold or was that me?" he purred, making me blush and laugh. I rolled my eyes, turning my head and kissing him before he pulled away and tugged lightly at my arm. "Come on my Strawberry Prince, let's go inside and cuddle," he said. I found myself brightening at his words.

"With hot cocoa?" i asked hopefully, biting my lip. He kissed my temple, sliding his arm around me as we headed towards the door of my porch.

"If you want David." I smiled as i headed into the house with him. He opened up the wooden door to show the white carpeted living room and i let out a sigh of content as i felt a gust of warm air hit me. I closed the front door, shuffling over to the kitchen where Daniel was. As i made my way over to the wooded floor of my kitchen, i couldn't help but take a glance at the pictures that litters the eggshell white walls of my home.

There was one of Max laying with the dog in the grass the first day Daniel and him stayed. Another one was a picture of all of them on the couch for a movie night, though i was cowering down under a pile of blankets as Daniel and Max were glued to the screen that was playing a horror movie. I smiled, feeling my heart swell in my chest warmly by the memories, a feeling of slight pride at where i see myself to be at this moment in time, being happy with my life and all it had to offer me.

I leaned on the counter, setting my chin in my palm as i watched Daniel grab two mugs and hot cocoa mix, setting them down on the counter. I sniffed the air lightly as he filled the mugs with milk and put them in the microwave.

"What's that smell?" i asked quietly. He grinned at me, before silently grabbing a small hand towel and opening the oven. The sent of warm cookies met my senses as he pulled them out and set it into the island in the middle of the kitchen. I grinned cheekily as he swiftly set the hand towel down and went to go take the mugs out of the microwave as it began to beep.
