Emery had started to lose hope about seeing Chris ever again.
He felt stupid to have let a stranger hold his heart in his hands.
He should stop being affected, he repeatedly told himself but his heart was stubborn.
So when he woke up at 6.55 as usual and got to his window at dot 7, he was taken aback to see the other boy at his spot. His heart soared with happiness with this simple fact that he was back.
Chris was confused. He was feeling extremely sorry on seeing the dull face of Emery when he had opened the window, for he knew it was because of him. But he couldn't help feeling happy at the same time, on discovering that Emery cared so much about him.
He had read the texts only this morning when his father returned his phone, thankfully without reading his chats.
I'm so sorry
He texted Emery while making eye contact with him.
His apology was met with a soft smile from his crush till he heard a roar of his coach saying "WHAT PIT HAVE YOU FALLEN INTO, BOY?!" that got his legs running again but not before throwing an apologetic smile in Emery's way.
