we had some hope of winning again, that's all we needed, there was no saying that this new strategy would actually work, but we saw the slightest chance of victory and we took it.
the artillery was fired, when it landed it let off a meteoric bang along with a huge cloud of smoke, so we charged. we gradually slowed down the closer we got to the smoke and when we heard another artillery fire we proceded. after a while, our artillery fire was getting quieter while theirs got louder as we made our way to the German trenches.
you could tell the difference between the two artillery because of the different sounds they make when they fire and the only disadvantage of the creeping barrage is that you cant see past the smoke.
the artillery stopped firing that's when we knew we were close to the German trenches, so we charged, we were so close the snipers could barely react, and we struck down anyone who resisted us in the trenches the took hostages to interrogate.
finally, a victory we all longed for...
