Kaz put his phone in his pocket, sighing, hoping Wylan would trust him.  He was driving back to Evalin's apartment. His phone started ringing and he picked it up.

"Kaz, Kaz help-" Evalin's voice cried from the other end before she was cut off.

"Ev?" he asked, concern lacing his voice. There was no reply so he pressed down hard on the gas, zooming to her home.

(Now he's at her apartment)

Kaz had his hand wrapped around his gun. The door's handle was busted and the door ajar. Kaz used his cane to push the door open. The home was torn up, and sobs came from Evalin's bedroom. Prowling over he looked in. Evalin day against the wall, sobbing. Kaz rushes in, going over to her and putting down his gun.

"What happened?" he inquired, pulling her to him. Evalin didn't answer, just cried into his shoulder.

"I didn't mean to," she sobbed, and Kaz looked down at her.

"Didn't mean to do what?"  Evalin just shook her head, grasping his shoulders tightly.  After about ten minutes she stopped shaking enough to point at the other side of the room.  Kaz stood silently, breaking their hold.  He walked around the side of the bed and beheld the bloody scene.

"Oh shit."

Hey guys.   Sorry I haven't been updating.  I had a writing competition that got me super stressed for the past two weeks and no joke I don't think I got eight hours of sleep last week.  And on Saturday I had a full day writing competition!  So yes, excuses are all I have for you and this crappy chapter.  Don't stop reading, I promise I'll update some more!
