SARA'S POV

National City is a lot more active than I remember. There are people everywhere. It reminds me of New York, just a lot more... open. People seem more focused on work, crossing the streets without looking, arguing on their phones, and their quick paces. I remember visiting National City when Kara and Alex first moved here. It was tough for both of them to be away from home, but they soon grew to enjoy it. Both of them made Oliver, Laurel, Ray, Barry, Ronnie, Wally, Iris, Tommy, Thea and I stay with them for a month before they could live alone. Now, ten years later, and they're doing fantastic. Alex is a government agent working for the DEO and Kara is a reporter for Catco Magazine by day, and Supergirl by night. The League always had negative things to say about meta-humans and aliens, but I knew who they were at heart. Kara wouldn't hurt a soul unless they harmed the public or her family. I've known she had powers since she first came to Midvale. Eliza, Alex, and Kara knew they could trust us with Kara's secret, and we haven't told a soul since.

My car pulls up to a tall, sleek building, much like every other office building in any city you could think of. The driver tells me an agent is waiting for me inside the front door to take me up to the DEO. I knew from the moment I got in the car that he was a DEO agent. His posture and the way he spoke, he knew that I was critical to Alex and I could tell how nervous he was.

I step out of the car and thank him before I grab my belongings and walk towards the front entrance. The inside is nice and clean, with only a janitor and a woman sitting behind the front desk. She must also be a DEO agent because she smiles and introduces herself. "You must be Sara. I'm Agent Vasquez." She holds out her hand, and I happily accept.

We walk silently down a hallway towards a door that says "Employees Only." We quickly enter and walk down another dark hall to an elevator. Agent Vasquez, I think her name was, doesn't start speaking until we've made in five floors up.

"As you know, the DEO is a secret organization. Agent Danvers has told me that she has already told you about what the DEO does and how we operate and that we can trust you, but my boss, Agent Henshaw, has told me I must go through the rules with you." She cocks an eyebrow as a question if she can keep talking. I nod my head in approval, and we spend the next few minutes going over the rules and walking through various hallways and rooms.

As I start to hear multiple voices and footsteps, I look ahead to see brighter lights and the end of the hallway. By now Vasquez has finished all the rules and was telling me about each room we had passed. As we reach the big room, I notice how big it is. It extends to two floors with two staircases leading to the lower level and a large balcony outside where I imagine Kara lands every day instead of taking that long ass route from the entrance. People are running around everywhere, carrying papers and large weapons. I carefully watch each person and the way they walk and interact with each other. They all seem to be the same, other than the ones who are injured. They're trained well, but nothing like how the League is taught.

Then I spot Alex talking, more like yelling, to a man who looks about twice her size. She seems frustrated, and then another woman a little smaller than Alex walks up behind her, rubbing Alex's shoulders. The women exchange a few words and Alex soon calms down. I notice how grown up Alex has gotten since I last saw her. She seems to have more confidence in her, and her hair is cut short. Physically, she is nothing like she used to be the last time I saw her. I hope her personality hasn't changed that much because I miss messing with her.

I assume the larger man has told Alex that I'm here because she quickly turns her head and runs towards me and jumps into my arms. "Hey, Danvers. Long time no see." I hug her back as tightly as I can. "I can't believe you're alive." I hear her cry into the crook of my neck.

"Hey," I say, and she lifts her head to look at me. I take both my hands and cup her face while her arms and legs are still wrapped around me. "I'm here now, and I'm not going anywhere. I promise." I tell her and kiss her forehead. She sighs and moves her head back onto my shoulder.

I watch as the older man makes his way towards us with another agent who looks about Kara's age. "You must be Sara." The man's voice is deep and commanding. He holds his hand out for a handshake, and I grip Alex with one arm, and I use the other to shake his hand. "I'm Agent Henshaw."

"He's the boss." The slightly smaller boy standing next to Agent Henshaw says. I hear Agent Vasquez and Alex laugh.

"Yes, I am." He laughs. "This is Agent Winn Schott." Winn holds out his hand for me to shake.

"I can see Alex has already said her hellos." We all laugh. "Why don't you let Alex give you a tour of the DEO since I have a feeling you'll be sticking around for quite a while." He says.

"She didn't tell you I was coming here until today, did she," I say. He nods his head as I hit Alex on the head.

"Ow!" Alex picks her head up. "Since when did you get so strong?" She says.

"You could tell me the same thing," I laugh.

"It's not funny. That really hurt." Alex rubs her head.

"I'm sorry. Will this make you feel better?" I fling Alex over my shoulder, and she screams making everyone in the DEO turn their heads towards us.

"Sara Lance! Put me down!" she yells and hits my back. I can tell all the agents are trying to hold in their laughter as I skip around the DEO with a screaming Alex threatening to beat up anyone who would laugh at her. "Sara put me down." She pouts.

"Alright, fine." I immediately drop her on her back.

"I didn't mean like that, you idiot." She complains as I laugh. Then I feel my legs suddenly move up into the air as the rest of my body flips over until I land on the ground in pain. I look over to see Alex laughing hysterically.

"You're going to regret that," I say rubbing my butt.

"Whatever. Let's go before Hank yells at me again." We both get up and walk towards another hallway.
