Serena's POV
We turned the TV on after eating breakfast and talking, hoping that it would work. Luckily, it did, probably because the storming outside was much calmer than before. We turned the channel to the News Channel, and we listened to what they had to say.
"As you all are able to tell, it is still storming here on Melemele island, and even on other islands now. But, speaking of other islands, the rain has moved some to them, and there isn't near as much rain out there. The thunder and lightning have decreased, thank goodness," the news lady said.
"Also, continuing with the good news, the storming will stop in a few hours! So, if you need to take a plane, take it then! The storm should be held off until late this evening, so take the planes while you can. The airport was originally closed, but it will reopen for people to travel at noon, which is in about two and a half hours."
So...I do have to leave today..., I thought, and then sighed.
"Guess I'll be leaving today then...," I said aloud. Everyone looked a little sad, but they remembered the talk that we all had just had.
"I-It's okay, Serena. We'll get you a bag to put your stuff in when you go back, since your luggage was kind of...you know...by the fire...," Mallow said.
I smiled. "Thanks, Mallow. That's really sweet." She smiled back, and gave a slight nod.
"That's a shame," Kiawe said.
"Yeah...," Ash said. My Pokemon hugged me again.
"Guys, she has to go. She needs to, before she can't," Professor Kukui said. "We don't want Serena feeling guilty. I know it's hard, but we all have to support her."
"I really wish that I could stay longer...but I can't...," I said, really feeling guilty, even though Professor Kukui had just said I shouldn't. I know that they had all said they were okay...but I could tell that they all looked disappointed.
After the storming stopped...
The storming was now temporarily done, and the airport was now open again for people to travel where they needed to go. We were already there, and I had all of my remaining belongings, including my Pokemon in their Pokeballs, in a bag from Mallow, just as she'd said earlier.
The entire group of people were with me, too: Mallow, Lillie, Lana, Sophocles. Kiawe, Ash, and Professor Kukui. We would all say goodbye here.
I sighed. "Well...where do I begin...," I said to them all, rubbing the back of my neck. I honestly didn't know where to start this goodbye.
"When I first came here to Alola for vacation, I didn't at all expect that I'd do all the things I've done here, especially see Ash again. Also, I got the opportunity to meet all of his new, incredible friends, and that's you guys." I smiled, and so did all of them.
"I've had such a great time here, and I'll definitely make plans to come back to Alola," I said with a wink.
"That would be awesome," the Professor said. "We'd really like that."
"Yeah!" everyone else said.
After that, I said goodbye to each of them, until I got to Ash.
"We'll...go ahead and let you say goodbye to Ash...," Mallow said, and she gave me a wink. I slightly blushed, and everyone nodded, then walked out of sight. I turned to Ash.
"U-Um...I...," I stuttered nervously, looking down and fidgeting with my fingers.
"Serena." I blinked, and looked back up at him.
"I'm glad you came here on vacation." He smiled. I smiled back.
"Me too. You have no idea."
We stared at each other, and I felt tears welling in my eyes.
Come on, Serena...you've said goodbye to him before...why all tearful now? I thought as I tried to hold in the tears. But, as I figured would happen, I wasn't able to.
I started crying, and Ash pulled me into a comforting hug. I cried onto his shoulder. I was going to miss him more than I already had before I came to Alola, not knowing that he would be here.
"It's...gonna be okay, Serena. I'll see you again. That's a promise," he said, releasing from the hug and putting his hands on my shoulders.
"But...what if you don't?"
He almost seemed to chuckle, and he held my chin with two fingers. "How could I not be able to see your face again, Serena?"
I gasped, tears still falling down my cheeks, and I kissed him. Even though I didn't consider us a thing, I did it anyway. Clearly Ash didn't mind, because he kissed back, just like he had done after he saved me from the hotel when it was in flames.
I pulled away, and looked into his determined, auburn eyes. I heard the lady over the microphone call for my flight, and I smiled.
"Gotta get going," I said, still smiling.
"Okay. I'll see you again, Serena. I promise." He held up my hand with his own and kissed it, and I giggled slightly.
"Bye, Ash."
"Bye, Serena."
As he said those last words to me, I turned around and ran, waving to him, not even sad anymore. I knew Ash, and he'd never break a promise. I knew I'd see him again. I knew I'd talk with him again. I knew I'd hug him again.
I'd say I knew I'd love him again, but I can't, because I've never stopped loving him.
