Summary: Continued from Chapter, Jack Dalton, 14. Can this teacher get out of this mess with all her kids still in one piece?

"Get down!"
Someone yelled loudly, but to Mia all the voices joined together. The bullet had grazed her forearm. Brayden shoved the girls next to him. "Miss Mia?" He yelled shielding the girls from glass.
"I'm coming, Brayden." She yelled to him. She crawled slowly to Riley, Bozer and her kids.
Macgyver swerved the steering wheel. "Jack, I need you to drive." Jack took it and Mac started working on some contraption. Gunfire continued from the side view, a man driving a van was hightailing them.
When Mia got to the back of the van, Bozer was helping Mac and Riley was rerouting the drive. The kids shook and little Emma was crying. "I want my mama." She sniffled, so scared she was sweating.
    "Emma. You're going to be fine. Jack and Macgyver will take care of you. And so will I." Mia comforted looking at all of them.
  "Mia!" Jack hollered back to her. "I could use some help."
"Stay down. Brayden, keep them quiet." She wobbled to the front window, while still in the back. She unlatched her holster and returned fire. When the clip was empty she reloaded and by then the van was retreating. The van was slowly fading from existence when Mac poured into oxygen to the tank, causing speed. Jack parked in an alleyway. "This is where we get out."
   "Alright, Kids. I'm so incredibly proud and the suckers have doubled in size when we get back. I need you all to be strong just a little longer." Mia said, grabbing Emma and carrying her. Molly, Brayden, Olivia, and Alexia all filed in to lines, holding her hand. Jack motioned them into a backdoor of an apartment building while keeping guard out the door.

Once they were inside the kids were starting to grow hungry. Alexia shifted slightly on the couch they were all sitting on. "Miss Mia I hungry." Mia walked over and ran her hand over the child's long hair.
"I know, darlin. I'll find y'all something to eat:"She walked into the kitchen slowly and carefully, still shaking from the trip.
Jack looked at Macgyver in a knowing way, one that was slightly worried and one that silently pleaded for him to watch the kids while he talked to her. Mac nodded and leaned against the window, watching for a danger.
Jack walked into where Mia was. He crept around the main middle wall, and saw her. She was leaned against the sink, trying to control her breathing. He sighed and walked behind her looping his arms around her waist. She rested her hands on his and he set his chin on her shoulder. "I'm sorry." He whispered.
"I know." She mumbled turning around and embracing him.
