Brittney's POV

My dad and I flew in this morning. It's weird going there and back. From Minneapolis to LA, I mean. I come here for a couple days, return for a little over two weeks, and now come back to Minneapolis. My dad said we'd be here until Sunday, which is three and half days. Tomorrow's Friday and we leave Sunday. I'm actually really stressed out because coming here and back to LA is difficult. I have to constantly catch up to work, I come here and have fun and what not. But this time, I brought my homework to do.

Right now, my dad and I are sitting in the stands at Eden Hall Academy watching the Ducks play the Eden Hall Varsity Warriors. They were a pretty good team, they didn't play like trash or anything. They were amazingly talented and seemed like it'd take forever to try and score. Neither team had scored, and it was the third period. The Ducks and Warriors had both left to their locker rooms for abut ten minutes to talk strategy and what not.

My father and I were quiet. So quiet that no one from the team had seen us. not even Charlie's mother, who was in the stands as well, had seen us. Matt doesn't know we're here either. We're probably staying at Mom's again, but we flew in this morning. So his rental limo is parked outside waiting for us when we're done.

I had been cheering on the Ducks. Good thing is that the crowd is so loud that the Ducks team won't here me yelling. My father clapped and cheered along, but didn't make it noticeable. He probably wanted to surprise them. I was seated and had been waiting here, but finally the teams had walked out of their locker rooms refreshed. I hit my dad's shoulder, not accidentally, when I had seen Portman walk out of the locker room alongside Fulton.

The two seemed thrilled. They couldn't stop hollering and looking at the crowd, wanting them to cheer louder. And Portman couldn't stop smiling, and he just, well, he was the Portman we knew from Team USA. "Calm yourself, Brittney. I convinced him to come," My dad said.

"You did?" I asked, and he nods, looking at the Ducks who were starting. "Why?"

"Because. It wasn't the Bash Brothers with Portman. And they clearly needed some help, so I was able to convince him to sing it,"

"So, he'll play ten minutes of the last hockey game of the year? And will stay for the rest of the year here?" I asked a little confused.

He nods. I quieted myself down and sat nicely on the bleacher while the game had already started up. I watched as the Varsity went full out, and seemed to be more alive than ever. The Ducks seemed more alive than before because of long break, but I was still praying that they'd make it out alive. even if they didn't win, I wasn't going to be upset, and I hope they aren't either. Miss MacKay had said what my dad said 'games are supposed to fun'. Indeed they are. I can't relate, my team has won every game so far this year, well, except for one that we had tied because two of our teammates had broke out into fight.

I look up when I see Portman check Cole into the boards and glass wall, which shatters and he lands in the crowd. Portman starts laughing as he skates away. Which led to him going to the box. He started striping, and the announcer had explained that too. I laughed, covering my mouth, while my dad looked down at me, a serious look on his face. I stopped laughing and smartened up.

Awhile later, it was down to the last minute. The Ducks had Ken, Portman, and Fulton in the box with the rest on the bench. With three players left to either tie or win the game, the Coach of that team had put on Charlie, Adam, and Goldberg. It surprised me very much that Goldberg was even playing out of net. I didn't know they had put him there. It shocked me very much, but I didn't say anything about it.

Varsity had five players and the upper hand to victory. I watched intently as Charlie got shoved to the ground at face off and they tripped Goldberg while Adam stuck by one of the Varsity's side. Varsity came up with the puck. Adam tipped it out of their reach and it went behind the net. Julie exited the net to try and push the puck further away, but with an open net now, the Varsity had their shot to score.

I went to cover my eyes, when my dad stopped me, and told me to watch. Charlie, out of no where, jumps out of the net, and blocks the puck. I stand up, hollering and cheering for Charlie's part. Charlie had quickly gotten off the ground. Goldberg with the puck, he skates as fast his legs would take him, and then shot the puck down the ice. Banks followed them down the ice, and Varsity retrieved the puck.

The three boys skated backwards as Varsity made their way down the ice. They deked out Adam and he soon got shoved into the boards. Charlie and Riley, the two captains, went head to head. Charlie flipped Riley to the ground, and made a breakaway down the ice. Adam held off the others to give them some room to skate. Goldberg behind him, knocks two players down, leaving Adam with one while two are after Charlie.

Charlie goes to shoot, and I got ready to holler knowing it'd go in, but then he passes it back to Goldberg. Goldberg?! Charlie gets knocked to the ground with two boys on him and Goldberg stops with the puck, not knowing what to do. he was defense, and probably didn't want to shoot, afraid he'd loose it for them. Goldberg shoots, and just as he does, he gets knocked to the ground with one of the Varsity players who had knocked Charlie down.

Goal.

It's a goal! He did it! I jumped so high out of pure joy and screamed as loud as I could. The buzzer went off and the Ducks all jumped the boards and rushed over to one another, cheering and hollering. Everyone in the stands, stands up and clap, as they cheered on the Ducks for their stupendous victory.

Charlie, after a little celebration, looks up in the stands. I look at my dad, who's smiling with a nod. His hand sin his pockets and I look back at Charlie, who's smiling wider than ever. He doesn't seem so mad, but incredibly happy at what they've accomplished. When Charlie returns to the game, I see him bring Matt into his arms and kiss her passionately.

I decided not to go celebrate, but instead wait and celebrate tomorrow at their dance. I want to surprise them. I'm honestly super happy and proud for them. I can't explain how I feel. It's really incredible.

After everything Adam had told me, I had to push away the thoughts and eagerness to run down and hug him. But he was too busy celebrating with all the Ducks to even look at the stands. Only Charlie had noticed me, and my father. Matt didn't even bother to look. I follow my dad and we head out now that they've won and we congratulated them, mainly Charlie.
