Alicia turned out to be the best friend Amelia ever had. They had a similar sense of humor, liked the most of same type of music, and even had the same general idea of how the world should work. They still disagreed at times, mainly the small things. How to pronounce gif (Amelia said  jif while Alicia was team gif. Amelia almost unfriended her at that debate.), whether or not K-pop was good music (You can't even understand what they're saying! Amelia tried to argue but Alicia was having none of it.), and which ship was the best between Drarry and Solangelo (At least mine is canon! Amelia almost fought her when she said that).

The new friends walked down to the lunch room laughing at a joke Alicia had told when they past a group of kids who had suddenly found the pair interesting. Their eyes followed them and Amelia, fulling expecting them to have something to say about her and her lunchroom reaction, ignored them completely. Until she heard what they said.

"Wow, who knew the dyke was into angry bitches now?"

Amelia saw Alicia tense next to her. When she looked, she saw her friend's eyes squeezed shut and she was taking deep breaths, most likely trying to calm herself. She put an arm around her and whispered under her breath, "Don't listen to them. They're just bored, insecure idiots." Alicia nodded slowly and started to move again before one of the teens opened their mouth again.

"Aw, look at little Amelia trying to defend her girlfriend. You much have a soft spot for dykes since you're mom is one right?"

Amelia stopped and didn't move. Her heart was racing and her mind was at war. She could handle people talking about her, it had been happening since her parent's divorce. It took a while but she had learned to ignore the ignorance of her peers. However, now was not one of those times.

"Excuse me?" She snapped. "Just who do you think you are?" Amelia stepped closer to the teens, "Is that what you call fun? Making fun of lesbians because they get more girls than you do?" She asked the boy who had made the comment.

Said boy's face lit up like a Christmas tree, "Look here you little-"

He was interrupted by a teacher who'd peered into the hall to investigate the voices outside her room. "Is there a problem here?" She asked with a raised brow, "Ashton you should know better than to get into trouble right now." She crossed her arms.

Alicia used the distraction to pull Amelia away from the crowd. Once they were out of view she stopped and looked at her and sighed out a thanks.

"Don't thank me for being a decent human being." Amelia rolled her eyes, "Another group of stupid kids saying stupid things."

"Still," Alicia laughed, "You didn't look at me funny like some other girls I know."

Amelia just shrugged, "Who you want to roll around with is none of my business. Now let's go, i'm starving."
