Sam ran in.

I went to deliver another blow to my jaw but found his hands firmly holding my blood stained wrists.

I cried out, desperately thrashing out, struggling in his grip.

"LET ME GO!" I screamed, my feet kicking his shins.

He stayed calm, his eyes staring at me.

"STOP IT!"

"LET ME GO!"

Tears streamed down my cheeks, my throat hoarse and dry.

Why was he just standing there, looking at me with sadness in his eyes?

My sobs worsened, hopelessness filling me.

I gave up.

I let my body drop down onto the floor.

He guided me down gently, and propped me against a wall, holding onto my hands.

He just sat next to me, staring at the room in front.

His kindness only made me cry harder, deep wracking sobs from my chest heaved out my heart.

He silently moved to put his arms around me, holding me tight, giving me the support I hadn't realized I had needed.

I pressed my face into his shoulder, soaking his shirt with my tears, willing him to hold me, to not let me slip away.

He hugged me tight as my breathing began to slow.
