After eating, we decided to just relax and talk for a while before we head to the sea again to surf. I had my shirt and shorts on once my bikini was dry. I was really full, after eating all the food and so were the rest. Cole still didn't say anything but Andy said a lot. He just kept talking and talking, to me, to Jennifer, to Nathan but not to Cole. They seemed to have some hatred between them. I stayed quiet too because I was thinking. Andy was busy talking about how his parents bought him a new skateboard for his birthday and he bragged about it, he likes to brag and I don't like that. After I was tired of listening to the skateboard talk, I stood up and grabbed Nathan's car keys that were on the basket and I walked towards the parking lot. "Where are you going?" Nathan asked me.
"To get the surfboards," I answered him.
"I'll go with you!" Andy shouted and I was shocked because why would he want to follow me to just get surfboards from a car?
"No. I'll go," Cole said.
I raised an eyebrow and Andy said, "I'll go. We don't need a weakling to help the girl." Did he just refer me as 'the girl'? I have a name!
"When you say weakling you mean you, right?" Cole smirked.
"Alright-" Andy was interrupted by Nathan.
"I'll go with her, you two stay here with Jen." Nathan snapped.
While we were walking to Nathan's car, I said, "thanks Nate."
He shrugged, "eh, no problem. I would do anything for my best friend," He hugged me and I hugged him back.
"What's up with them, anyways?"
"Don't ask me." He shook his head and his dark brown hair swayed with his head. If he wasn't my best friend, I would've actually liked him, but he's not my type. His body shape is really good, he's really sporty and he used to play a lot of sports with my brother but he's gone now. His eyes were the same colour as his hair, he's half Chinese half American.
"Hey, Nate?" he looked at me, "after... Greg passed away, who'd you go to the gym with?"
He looked away and put a hand on my shoulder, "no one. He was the best coach slash company I could ever get... I tried going to the gym with some other people but they would just ignore me or talk to someone else in the gym. I don't know why, but they did that. So I gave up and chose to go alone,"
"Aw, Nate. So sweet,"
"Heh. How are you handling it?"
"The family business? Well, I guess. I think about my mom a lot, and Greg. I think about my dad too, the only family I have right now, is Joanna. And you guys."
"It'll get better."
"That's what everyone's telling me. It won't. I'm just hoping that it would get easier."
"Sorry,"
"It's not your fault,"
"Love you, Sam. Cheer up, we're here."
"Thanks, Nate. Love you too."
We were already getting ready to start surfing. We planned it out, it was going to be Jennifer and I first, then Nathan and Cole, and finally Cole and Andy. I found it unfair that Cole got to surf twice, but all he did was laugh at me. At first it was Andy and Nathan but then Andy and Cole really wanted to compete with each other. I thought it was stupid, anything can happen to them. I tried warning them but they didn't listen. Boys. (A/N: jokes :p)
