Pippa's POV:

I was able to compose myself enough to go to the police station. Although not completely because I know I'll lose it again after the detectives say that have nothing new and are going to give up. The car ride is completely silent. Lin's eyes are fixated on the road, he doesn't look at me once.

He won't admit it but he knows what I said this morning is probably true. I hate it admit it, but I rather face the true and start the grieving process than hold on to false hope forever.

"Well we're here." We pull into the station and Lin turns off the car. He doesn't take his eyes off the building in front of us. After minutes of sitting in silence he finally looks at me, there is a single tear running down his face.

I wipe away the single tear on Lin's check as tears begin falling down my own. "We are going to be okay Pip. Remember what I said when Vanessa and Steven died?" I nod letting him know I do. "Everything happens for a reason. After the car accident we did okay and eventually we were happy for a while. We just have to get through it and we will be okay."

"But I don't want to get through it. I want Lynnette back."

We finally gather the courage to go inside and are greeted by detective Carla Davis. She lead us to her office before sharing the progress of our case.

"I have some good news for you two today! Rachel Harrow has been spotted in a motel right outside LA-"

Lin blurts out "California?" before she can finish her sentence.

"Yes, California. We have confirmed her identification and that she has your daughter still with her. We are sending out a team to retrieve your daughter and bring her home safely to you."

While this is all good news I can't help but think something wrong is going to happen.
Every time something starts going well in me and Lin's life it takes a drastic turn for the worse. I guess I got to caught up in my thoughts because Lin nudges me a few times to grab my attention.

"Are you okay Pip?" His eyes are filled with worry as he gently squeezes my hand.

"Yeah I'm fine." I say turing back towards detective Davis "What will happen to Rachel?"

"She will be detained by officers at the scene and brought back to new york for a trail. The trail is going to determine how what and how long her punishment is. Based on all the evidence supporting your side of the cases it's clear to see she is guilty and the only thing in question would be the length if her sentence."

"I want to go to California!" Lin looks at me shocked by my outburst. "I want to be there when they get Lynnette back. I want to make sure she gets back home safely."

"Of course ma'am. You would have to leave soon. We have a general location on Rachel where is currently, however we can't ensure that she will remain in the same place for long."

Lin and I go home to think and possibly get ready for the trip to LA. He is speechless for once. He is just sitting there in his own thoughts. I grab his hand to get his attention. "What are you thinking?"

"I- I- you need to go. I'll stay here with Sebastian. If my parents weren't in Puerto Rico they could watch him and we could go together."

The disappointment is spread across Lin's face as he stares down at his hands.

"Hon, it's okay. I will bring her home safe. All that matters is that she is coming home. It doesn't matter if you aren't able to be there to get her. I can do it by myself. After a few hours she will be in your arms and how she got there wont matter."

Lin stands and slams his chair on the floor before going off on a rant.

"It does! It does matter! I should be there when we get our daughter back. I should have been there through your pregnancy. I've let you down so much you have adjusted to me not being there when I need to be. It's my fault she is gone I should be there to get her back!"

He runs out of the room before I can respond. I never knew it blamed this whole thing on himself. It's my fault Lynnette is gone. I pushed Rachel with all my flirting with Lin, and she couldn't handle it when she found out my baby is Lin's.

The only way I can help him is to make sure he comes with me to California. I call around to see if anyone can watch Sebastian but almost everyone is busy. I get to the end of the list of possible babysitters and see Chris' name.

He watched Sebastian the other day and might be willing to do it again. I call him but someone else answers.

"Hey Pippa, it's Mandy."

"Oh hey Mandy. I have a big favor to ask Chris can you ask him for me?"

"Sure! What's up?"

"We got a hit on where Rachel is so Lin and I need to go to California. But we can't find anyone to watch Sebastian while we are gone."

"Oh my god that is great news! You can drop off Sebastian at my place, Chris is in the shower but I'm sure he will be more than fine with it."

"Thank you so much Mandy you are a lifesaver!"

"No problem. I'll see you soon!"

Immediately I run to the bedroom to let Lin know of the new plans. He is lying on the bed with his face covered by the pillows. I take a seat next to him and gently rub his back to gain his attention.

"Honey don't feel bad right now. You should be getting ready with me and help me get Sebastian ready to go to Mandy's." I can't hid my smile as he sits up in confusion. "I called Chris but Mandy answer and she said they could watch him while we go to California. Now come on we need to go!"

Lin quickly throws together a bag for Sebastian then we are on our way to New Jersey. We are greeted by the always friendly Mandy Gonzalez at the train station.

"Hey guys! I would sit and chat but you two should get going I got the kid."

Lin questions her about the whereabouts of Chris since he was the one that was called for the babysitting job.

"He had to go into the city but he will be back in a few hours."

"So are you two a thing? I see you have him coming all the way down to New Jersey all the time now." Lin pokes at Mandy. Her and Chris' relationship has always been a question to everyone, even more so now they both separated from their spouses.

"You guys should really get going. I hope to see Lynnette the second you get back."

She takes Sebastian's hand after our goodbyes and leads him to her car. Lin and I hop into a cab leading us to the airport.

After a few ours we touch down in Los Angeles. We are greeted by a team working to get Lynnette back. For the first time in a while things are looking up.
