The pack and I raced through the forest around La Push. The wind created by our speed pushed my fur back and forced me to run faster. Trees blurred past but I saw each one perfectly as we strode past them. I rounded the corner and a familiar voice entered my line of hearing.

"Sorry, do I know you?" Rachel asked warily.

My spine immediately straightened and with a brief look at each other Paul and I sped off towards my house where Rachel was. That was until I heard the voice of an angel reply to my sister's question.

"Clary. Clary Fray, remember?" Her chimes triggered my muscles to relax causing me to freeze mid lunge and fall flat in my tail. I hurriedly got up and ran towards the spark that ignited the flame in my chest.

Dude! Chill, you're gonna make me fall in love with this chick, Seth joked.

Awwww. Jacob has finally imprinted. We won't have to hear him wallowing over Bella no more, Embry added in.

Shut up, I told them before pushing harder to catch up with Paul. He was pulling on his shorts when I phased and did the same before we both trotted off to my house. Rachel was laughing at something she evidently found very funny when I saw her. Her long, curly, red hair flowed down to just above her cute small butt that I couldn't help but linger on. My eyes slowly drifted upwards to her pale face on which adorable brown freckles were painted. Her full lips were a rosy pink colour and the thought of placing my own on hers sent my heart cartwheeling. Green orbs glared at Rachel murderously as they caused my insides to soften. I didn't notice them talking about us until her eyes were suddenly on me and my pulse skipped a beat.

"This is my fiancé, Paul Lahote, and my brother, Jacob."

"Nice to meet you, Paul," She smiled a heart melting smile at him before turning to me,I heart her heart falter slightly, and etched a small smile to my face, "Jacob. I'm Clarissa Fray, but call me Clary." As she said my name I stopped breathing and broke into a clumsy grin which made her smile brighten slightly. The sight of it caused my chest to puff out pridefully.

"Clary is my ex-boyfriend's bandmate's best friend, so we saw each other a lot over band practice and stuff."

"Yeah, I'm here with him actually, my best friend I mean, not Eric." she added at Paul's alarmed look. I heard footsteps behind me and glanced over my shoulder to see the rest of the pack strolling towards us.

"Clary, these are Sam, Quil, Embry, Seth, Leah, Brady, Colin and Jared." I said, speaking for the first time.

"Woah! You guys are like some kind of cult group." she giggled, spreading warmth around my body, "You have to come meet my friends."

With that she shot off with us all trailing behind. We were led to the sand where a man was sitting on a beach chair with a girl on his lap and their lips against each other as they kissed. A young boy sat on the sand beside their seat with a manga book in his hands. Clary grimaced at the sight of her two friends tangled up in each other.

"Ew. Will you two stop that?! It's disgusting and none of us want to see you snogging on the beach, leave that for your bedroom. Whores."

The two pulled away slowly, apparently used to her ranting, before looking at each other with loving eyes making Clary groan and huff in exasperation. Sympathy and love for her radiated from my body as her friends only looked at each other more passionately.

"Quileutes, these are Isabelle Lightwood and Simon Lewis, my best friends who recently got engaged and won't stop kissing." Isabelle stood up and smirked as Clary fumed. The pale boy smiled at us from his seat, "The pubescent teen on the floor is Max." The boy in question looked up at her and stuck his tongue out playfully to which Clary just rolled her eyes with a smile in place, "Izzy, Si, Max. These are Jacob, Paul, um Quil, Brady, Col-" She was interrupted by a tanned boy with sparkling golden eyes and blonde hair scooping her up and spinning her around while they all laughed. My jaw tightened and I clenched my fists in growing anger. I felt myself shaking as I fought not to phase in front of these people. Sam shot me a withering glare while the rest of the pack looked at me worriedly.

The golden boy released her and wrapped his arm around her waist. That was when I noticed the absent heartbeat, and it all clicked. His golden eyes, the unnerving feeling, the supernatural good looks.

He was a vampire.

"This is my brother, Jace," Clary stated. I sighed internally with relief until I realised that he must only be a newborn. The thought made me queasy and I instinctively wanted her as far away from him as possible. "Those two are Alec Lightwood, Izzy's brother, and his husband., Magnus Bane." She gestured to two men standing behind Jace. I hadn't noticed them before that. They were quite opposites. One wore flamboyant sequined and bejeweled shorts while the other wore simple denim jeans with a black t-shirt. Alec's black hair contrasted well with his pale skin and his electric blue eyes matched Magnus's hair.

"Hey."

"Cool hair, dude."

"Nice to meet you."

Were our jumble of replies.

"These are the Quileutes: Jacob, Paul, Sam, Embry, Brady and um Leah? Sorry, I can't really remember your names."

"No problem, I'm Seth. These are Colin and Brady. They're sorta like besties. Sam, Quil, Embry, Jacob, Paul and Jared. They're like the originals, but way cooler, and not as big of a group, and not vampires. Duh." Simon and Clary both grinned while the others stared at him blankly, "This is Leah, my older sister, and that is Rachel Black, Jacob's sister and Paul's fiancée."

"Right. I'll probably just forget all those again though." Clary smiled sheepishly at us, "Simon, you remember Rachel, right?"

"Yeah, it's nice to see you again, Rach." He said with a sincere grin.

"You too, Si. How's the band?"

"Doing good. We've got a new lead singer because Clary said we needed someone who was hot and could sing." The redhead giggled and shrugged slightly, as she leaned into her brother. I couldn't help but growl slightly under my breath at the vampire as I pictured myself in his place and sighed almost out loud.

Rachel laughed, "I bet Eric had a tantrum at that."

"You have no idea. The new guy's better than the rest of us though so he can't really complain."

"And that ass..." Clary sighed dreamily as Jace looked down at her in horror, and the pack gaped. A pit of fire roared inside me as I tried to gain control of myself, "What? He is gorgeous. Right, Iz?"

"Oh, yeah. If he wasn't dating Maia we'd be married right now. I mean - those abs." She groaned playfully, then smirked at Simon's distressed look. I shot a quick glance at Sam to see him staring intently at Clary, with a confused look on his face. The girl herself must've noticed this too, because she fidgeted a bit and moved even closer to Jace: who in turn held her tighter causing my heart to clench in lustful pain.

"Guess what, Simon?" Max said running up to the geeky boy, "Itachi was secretly a good guy!" Clary gasped as Simon's mouth quirked upwards into a smirk.

"Pay up." He held out a hand to Clary who grumbled a bit before grudgingly handing Simon ten dollars. Jace let out a bark of laughter, making Clary glare at him in annoyance. He smiled sheepishly and put his hands up in surrender before grinning and kissing her forehead. I let out a protective growl, though Simon must've heard because he peered at me and tilted his head slightly before shaking it dismissively and planting a small kiss on his fiancee's lips.
