Hi there I am very, very sorry! Please don't hate me? If you're even still reading this lol.... I've been suffering from a nasty combination of school stress and writer's block (and lack of motivation). I'll just.... leave this as a peace offering? *throws update in the general direction of the reader and flees*

Jennifer's nap turned out to be more of a 'sleep for eleven hours and wake up at midnight wide-awake and unable to go back to sleep, sleep schedules are for the weak anyway' type of deal. Which, okay, could've been worse. She hoped that nobody had killed each other while she was asleep. Jen quietly got out of bed.

She grabbed her iPad from the bedside table as she left the room and padded down the hallway. She saw light, and as she got closer, realized that it was coming from the kitchen. As were a couple of lowered voices.

"So Cassie-"

"As I've told you too many times in the last five hours, don't call me that."

A pause.

"So Cassie-"

"Gabriel..."

"Cassie..." Gabriel mocked.

"Are you really going to start this again?"

"You're the one starting stuff, I'm just saying your name."

"A nickname. That you gave me, and which I do not appreciate."

Jen cleared her throat. Both angels looked up from their conversation at the table.

"Oh, hey Jen! Snickers?" Gabriel asked innocently. He held his hand up, fingers poised to snap. Jen shook her head.

"No thanks, I'm not really hungry. What's the haps? .......okay wow I kinda hate myself for saying that but let's all move forward and forget I ever said it. What's going on?"

"I'm catching Gabriel up on what's been happening. I haven't gotten too far," Cas explained.

"Wait, why can't Gabe just read your mind, like he did to me?" Jen asked.

"Because he—"

"'Cause where's the fun in that, that's why!" Gabriel exclaimed. Cas sighed.

"That." Jen couldn't hold back a grin at the long-suffering tone of his voice.

"Uh-huh. Well, how far have you gotten? Is the slow way the only way to tell you what happened? Or, is there a quicker way to... read my mind?" Jen asked. It really would be more helpful if Gabe knew everything. Plus, it was midnight. Dean and Kelly wouldn't be up for a while, and Mary wouldn't be arriving until the morning. So sue her, Jen wanted to kill time.

Gabriel hesitated. Jennifer raised her eyebrows. He sighed and nodded.

"Uh, yeah, but... it's a little intrusive," he said.

"I wouldn't recommend it," Cas added. "It isn't pleasant." Jen suddenly remembered Metatron forcing all the pop culture knowledge into Cas's head. She inhaled sharply.

"Is it like... like when Metatron forced all that pop culture into your head?" she asked. That had hurt Cas. Cas frowned and nodded.

"It's a little uncomfortable that you have so much knowledge of our lives." he said. Jen shrugged. She was kinda uncomfortable with it too.

"Yeah, tell me about it. I mean, I know a lot about all of you that you...." Ummm okay fuck maybe that wasn't a great idea welp can't do anything about it now shit oh well guess I'm gonna get myself into another awkward social situation "...... um, don't know about each other, exactly. Shit, much regret." Why the fudgeduck did I say that? Shit. Fuck. Shit. "Uh, which I feel that I should disclaim, I'm not gonna go blurting out anyone's secrets or anything to anyone. So. Yeah. Although, if Gabriel reads my mind, he'll know everything I do, so, can't really speak for him. And speaking of which, I need to shut up now I'm gonna do that." Jen wanted to bang her head on the wall, she felt so awkward. The angels exchanged slightly confused looks. Then Gabriel laughed. Jen wasn't sure if she wanted to cry or throw something.
