She had gotten her hopes up for nothing. Once again Anna was the very definition of bored. In fact at the current moment, she was having flashbacks to the very night that she had met Director Krennic. Smile, greet, and repeat with the occasional drink in between. Smile, greet, repeat, and drink. Unfortunately those four things were creeping up into her life more frequently as of late. It wasn't as if she didn't enjoy parties, she did to an extent, it was just that she didn't expect all work that was expected of her; the fake cheeriness and all of that. Not to mention that a certain Director was seemingly determined to make sure that she didn't even get the slightest opportunity to leave his side while he talked to yet another officer.
Does he actually know all of these people? Anna thought to herself. Probably not. She decided. Maybe he's just a better actor them I am. Which was probably true considering the fact that while Anna offered little to nothing to any of the conversations talking place, the Director seemed perfectly capable of keeping up a conversation. Which brought up yet another interesting point. What exactly was her unfortunately husband talking about now? She didn't have the slightest clue. Guess that's what I get for zoning out. She decided that if whatever Director Krennic was saying had lost her attention, it probably wasn't important anyway.
Anna sighed and turned, as much as the Director's grip allowed, to look around the room. There were tons of people that she didn't recognize and unfortunately for her, the few people that Anna did recognize were nowhere to be seen. Probably off talking to someone else on the other side of the building somewhere, Anna concluded. She couldn't even manage to find her father in the large crowd. Jackal Richmond probably knew better then to hang around, knowing his daughters track record at large events. It wasn't her fault that she got bored easily, after awhile things just stopped holding her attention.
Back to the problem at hand.
How exactly was she going to get away from the Director? She at least wanted to somewhat enjoy herself and Anna knew that that wasn't going to happen as long as she was having to hang around him the entire time. Then she got an idea.

She didn't feel even the slightest bit guilty about leaving the Director. Her idea had worked perfectly. Anna decided that it was true what they say, when the going gets tough, the tough go to the bathroom. Now Anna was free to actually enjoy herself. And as far away from Krennic as possible! Anna concluded, putting as much space between her and the Director as she could.
She had just won her freedom and she did not want to give it up anytime soon.

Surprisingly, Anna actually found a few people to talk to. Three of those people being people that she had actually met at other events prior to this one, and one of them was one of her childhood friends who had apparently just graduated from the academy, and who apparently, to everyone's surprise, had become an officer of the imperial army. Anna still had no idea how he had pulled that off, knowing good and well that he was nothing but immature and crazy 99.99% of the time.
There was still one person who Anna was looking for however. She knew that he was supposed to be here, he had confirmed that much himself, but the exact question was where. She had briefly saw him at some point during the wedding ceremony and judging by the look on his face, Anna knew that he probably had some colorful commentary for her when he would see her again.
Anna searched for about fifteen minutes more then decided to give up and look for her father instead who she had just saw talking to someone very important looking and decided that joining her father would yield better results then rejoining Director Krennic. Who knows, maybe I might even get something out of this, Anna decided as it was her father was talking to someone important, maybe he could help her with her ambitions.
As she was making her way back to where she had seen them last, Anna finally found who she was originally looking for. As she turned to walk towards him, Anna decided that even though she was too old to play around like that, she couldn't help but decide to sneak up on him and jump. He always did hate it when she did that.
The moment never came however, as when Anna was just about to pounce, without even turning around to know it was her, her target spoke:
"Anna Ruby Richmond, if you even think about it, I will make sure that the rest of your life will be even more miserable until the day that you die."
With that her cousin turned around, and Anna couldn't help but to bust out laughing at his empty threat.

Lemme hear ya say cliffhanger! Yes? No? Maybe? I don't know. Anyway, that chapter was actually longer then I thought it would be. It was so much shorter in my head. The next chapter though is going to be a fun one, Krennic is going to get MAD! And it might be the slightest bit triggering but not for the reasons you might think. Hope y'all enjoy and thanks to all for the support!
