•Finnick's POV•
That night went by fast. As soon as the interviews were over, I went straight to bed.

There was a big announcement.
Katniss and Peeta really wanted to stop the games so Peeta came up with the wise strategy of saying Katniss was pregnant.

I didn't care. I was the smart one knowing it was all a lie.

The next morning I woke up earlier than usual. I slipped on a robe and walked to the kitchen.

Brook was in there cooking breakfast. She was still wearing the watch I had given her years ago.

I was about to turn around and go back to bed when someone stopped me.

"Brook! How sweet of you to make breakfast!" cheered Penia.
"Finnick, where are you going?"

I sighed. "Nowhere now."

I sat down and ate the food served to me. Bacon and eggs.

"Where's Bowie and Mags?"
Penia asked.

"Bowie's in the shower. Mags wanted to make more fish hooks." Brook said, chewing on a piece of bacon.

Penia nodded and looked like she was about to cry.

"I can't believe it. I'm going to have to say goodbye to one of you. Or both of you."

I shook my head. "Don't think like that."

"How is she suppose to think, Finnick? We can't both win!"
Brook shouted.

That left we silent. I wasn't going to fight with her anymore.

Brook sighed. "I'm sorry. Just shook up about the Games."

"It's alright." I said.

~hours later~

A few hours later, everyone was dressed and ready to leave for the Quell.

I stopped Brook.
"Since i can't say goodbye to you this time, Alba will. Penia's got me.
When the gong goes off, after the bloodbath, just...try to find me, okay? We have to be allies."
I said.

Brook nodded. "Okay."

"And by the looks of these uniforms, it's gonna be water. I can tell. A lake, probably. And...remember who the real enemy is."

Brook looked down.
"Seemed easy for you nine years ago." She mumbled.

I looked at her with a look that said: come on, Brook. You've gotta stop.

"Good luck." She said.

"Good luck."

Penia walked me to my tube and grabbed me by the shoulders.

"Good luck out there. It's been an honor knowing you." She cried.

I hugged her and whispered in her ear. "Remember...the promise."

She nodded as I stepped into the tube.

Then, she disappeared.

•Brook's POV•
"Good luck." I said to Finnick.

"Good luck."

Penia walked him to his tube as Alba walked me to mine.

"I'm going to miss you." She said.

"I'm gonna miss you too."

"You have to stay with Finnick. He'll keep you safe."

"He'll keep me safe?!" I asked.
"Yeah, I bet that promise he made to Snow is definitely gonna keep me safe!"

"Brook! Get out of this, this...trap. Finnick's proved that he loved you. Now it's time for you to prove that you love him. Stay with him."

I sighed and nodded.

"Ok. Goodbye." I gave her a hug as a tear went down her cheek.

"Good luck."

I stepped into the tube and she disappeared.

10, 9, 8, 7, 6.

I could feel Finnick's eyes on me.
I glanced at him and he quickly looked away. He was right. It was a lake. And tropical woods.

5, 4, 3, 2.

He looked again and as I looked at him, I mouthed the words good luck.

He smiled and nodded.

1!

The gong went off and that was it.
I hopped off my platform into the water and swam as fast as I could.

I quickly got onto a path and ran as fast as I could to the Cornucopia.

There were two tridents.
One for me. One for Finnick.

I grabbed one and as the girl from District 2 ran my way, my trident went through her chest, followed by the guy from District 11.

•Finnick's POV•
I couldn't stop looking at Brook.
I was going to die.
She had to know I love her.

The gong went off. I swam as fast as I could to another platform and ran to the Cornucopia.

Two tridents. They were far apart.
One for me.
One for Brook.

I grabbed one of them along with a bow and arrow. Brook worked good with a bow. She could win with it. Even though Katniss would be pissed.

I shot the guy from District 5 and stabbed the girl from 11. I turned around quickly and shot another girl in the foot, not even caring who it was. I needed to find Brook.

Many people were running away. I couldn't find her. Then I heard a familiar scream.

I turned around abruptly and dropped my bow.

I shot Brooklynn.
