•Brook's POV•
It was only the fifth day and almost all the tributes were gone.

Brutus killed Wiress so Katniss shot him with her arrow and I stabbed Cashmere with my trident.

We made a plan to carry Volts' wire to a tree that got struck every 12 hours. We were going to drag it along the lake so that the lightning could strike the wire and anyone that came across the lake or sand would be electrocuted to death.

We finally made our way to the tree.

"Okay," Beetee said.
"Katniss, Johanna, y'all go carry the wire to the lake."

After a little arguing, Katniss agreed. She gave Peeta a kiss and her and Johanna left.

"Peeta, help me with the wire. Finnick and Brook, keep guard. And have your tridents ready."

It wasn't long before we heard two cannons.

"Y'all don't think that was Katniss and Johanna, do yall?" I cried.

Volts shook his head. "No. I assure you that was Enobaria and her partner. But just in case, go check."

We all turned around and Peeta was gone.

"Peeta?!" I shouted.

Finnick was really confused.
"He can't just...disappear."

I ran through the jungle as Finnick stopped me.

"I'll go this way. Go that way."
He instructed. I was going to object but decided not to.
One of us is going to die. And soon.

I nodded.
"Just...be careful, okay?"

I nodded. "You too."

I turned around and walked in the opposite direction. That's when I saw it.

A hovercraft. But there wasn't a dead person on it. She was alive. It was Johanna.

After she hi lifted, I realized they had Peeta, too.

Why would they take them if one) no one had won the games yet and two) they're not injured?

It all made no since.

I walked back and saw Volts lying on the ground. The wire electrocuted him.

I ran up to him. "Vol-Beetee!" I cried.

He was unconscious, but not dead.

I was starting to get worried.
Johanna and Peeta got taken by the Capitol. I couldn't find Katniss. Volts is unconscious and there's no telling where Finnick is.

I hid behind a tree and held in my tears when Finnick came about thirty feet from me.

"We have to find Katniss. Look around there. Katniss, Katniss, where are you?!" He shouted.

I looked around and saw an unusual figure in the grass. With a bow. And an arrow. It was Katniss. And she was aiming straight at Finnick.

Without thinking I screamed,
"Finnick, move!"

I ran as fast as I could and pushed him out of the way as a sharp pain entered my leg.

I cried out and quickly grabbed the ointment from my backpack and applied it.

Katniss jumped up.
"Brook, I'm so sorry! I meant t-."

"Shoot me. We know!" Finnick snapped.

"You alright?" He asked.

"Yeah," I replied. I remembered my last games six years ago.
"I've delt with an arrow in the leg before."

Finnick smirked. "Good. You're brave. Can you move? Man, I gotta headache."

Katniss sat a far distance from us.

"We might wanna walk away." Finnick said.
"Lightning will strike that tree soon."

We walked at least half a mile and stopped to rest.

"Peeta and Johanna got taken by the Capitol." I said.

Katniss has tears falling.
"I know. I'm gonna go take a walk." She left as me and Finnick sat there in silence.

A parachute fell from the sky.
Finnick opened it.

"For your head. -S"

"S?" I asked.

Finnick shrugged.
"Penia's last name starts with an S. I'm gonna go get some fresh water to swallow this pill."

He came back about ten minutes later and looked fine.

"Help your head?" I asked.

He looked dead into my eyes.
"Katniss is gone."

I didn't need an explanation. He stabbed her.

"I-it's just us?" I stuttered. Breaking into tears.

"Not for long." Finnick said bitterly.

No, I thought. Just as I was beginning to trust you.

He held the trident to my chest, just like in my dreams.

"Finnick...please, don't do this."

This isn't him. Something changed him.

He through the trident at me and I barely dodged as it hit the tip of my shoulder.

"Damn it!" I cried in pain.

I stood up. I wasn't going to fight him.

"Finnick, come on!"

Then I got it. The pills!
S! Snow. Snow did something to that pill.

"Finnick, come on."

I ran to the lake and he followed.

I splashed him in the face.
It seemed to wash the pill away.

He passed out for twenty minutes and finally woke up.

"What happened?" He asked.

I stood up. "You tried to kill me," I said as I walked away.
