I'll Be There For You By Bon Jovi

Dan POV

We got back to the flat and Charlotte gave me a blood bag to help my sore neck. Nothing could help my throbbing head and heart though. I sat on the sofa, sipping at the blood bag as I rested the other hand on my neck. I still hadn't gotten use to this blood drinking thing, but it was tolerable and actually tasted good to my heightened taste buds. I drank it for the woman I loved and well because I had to so I would survive now as a vampire. I don't think it hit me yet that I wouldn't age and I'd look like this forever, but it was really exciting. Charlotte came out with 4 small leather books, sitting them on the coffee table next to my red converse covered feet, pulling me out of my thought and blood drinking. Kyle sat down next to me and ran his fingers through his hair as I did.

"Strange enough she hand selected these for the trip. Ones from 1943, 1862, and this one I can't even read cause it's in a different language....this is the current one with an entry from today." She sighed and sat against the TV stand, opening the book and scanning the page "I saw Erik at the beach and lets not forget to note that he's dead and has been for centuries. I'll tell you that story another time. I know it's coming soon and if I can't control it, I'm hoping you are the one reading this Charlotte. If you are reading this then I'm sorry for anything I've done. I was foolish thinking I could control all of this and keep it from you all. In turning Dan and Kyle I've weakened myself immensely. Even my healing process has slowed down. I never told you this because I never allowed you to do such a thing, but when you make someone immortal they're a part of you in the beginning. Feeding off your energy. Sounds gross right? Technically your boyfriend is feeding off my energy. Ew. Right back to being serious... if you're reading this I guess it's no joking matter at the moment." Charlotte paused to smile slightly. "Truth is I have no real method to stop my madness. I've only turned two people in my life time before Dan and Kyle and logged the following days of those turnings in my journals whenever I was sane enough. please give Dan this book and don't read anymore for your own health. I love you Charlotte and Kyle better take care of you till my return." Charlotte handed me the book and I took a deep breath. Charlotte and Kyle each grabbed one of the other journals and began to research how we might tackle this problem. I stood up and walked to the balcony, just to be alone as I opened the journal again. I flipped to the last page and found a small envelope tugging it off and opening it.

~I know this isn't good bye or farewell, but I want to warn you of the things that might happen. I might say I hate you or threaten your life, but you know none of that is true. When I first met you in the Sushi restaurant I knew you were different than other humans. You were accepting, shy, and open to even the craziest things. Here we are just a few weeks later and I've already offered my life up for yours and could never think of going eternity without you by my side. Just know that you are more important than anyone else in my 1000 years of life. As crazy at it sounds Dan Smith. I love you. Kara~

I could feel the tears on my cheeks slide down and land on the letter. It was short but I could close my eyes and hear her voice as if she was beside me or in my arms. I carefully slid it in my jacket pocket and cleaned off my face before walking into the living room and looking at Charlotte and Kyle who looked up at me.

"I have a plan. We're going to get Kara back. Tonight." I turned my eyes red as I showed my fangs, though they were small because of my age I was still a threat. Charlotte and Kyle stood and followed me as I headed to the kitchen and brought out my laptop, opening Google maps. "Alright where would she go?" I looked around places near the restaurant before smirking slightly and pointing to a nearby forest. "We're going to take her down and bring her back. Surely we have something that can hold her if she won't comply." Charlotte nodded before walking over to Kara's backpack and opening it on the kitchen table. I'd never been in there because it wasn't my business.

"There are chains and a stake. One of us will snap her neck then we stake her and when we get back her we have to chain her up." Charlotte looked at me and I nodded. As much as I hated the idea. The only way to save Kara was with tough love.
