It was Nice Knowing You

Here it comes
Another poem about you
And how you've messed up
How you've shut me out
And used me repeatedly
I really should stop trying
To reach out to you
I should just stop calling you my best friend
I can't remember the last time
You called me that
After all this time you still
Haven't learned from the past
And you've changed greatly
Into someone I would never want to know
You have focused in on
The social pyramid and
Are no longer the free girl
Who didn't care what they thought
No, now you are a slave to their judgement
Pushing me and my advice away
And today you finally made it obvious that
I am no longer of great meaning to you
Today you drew a line in the sand
And now I have to disregard
All the lies about our friendship
You've ever told me
Like how we will always stick together
And make it through anything
Because you've locked me out again
And this time
You won't open the door
So I just want you to know
I will not be crawling through
The window this time
You won't find me in your house anymore
I'm finally walking away from you
And learning to build
A house of my own
I have finally stopped
Breaking fences for you.
