What could that mean?
Did I have to go back to the attic of that house?
But I had already been there and seen everything.
What more could I discover?I was scared for the fact that it might be a trap.
Maybe Wendy was trying to set me up.
After all, she lived in that house.
Well she lived practically everywhere I went but that was definitely her place. But I had no choice.
Hadley and everyone else was still in danger.Couldn't I get a break? Like, for once! Here I have been time travelling, discovering the secrets hidden in the 18th century, meeting people who died way before I was born. My family on the other hand, doesn't remember a thing that happened, making my attempts all the more difficult.
Anyway I had to go back to that house.
I should definitely be named 'Superwoman' now.
I had to make an excuse to leave so I told mom that I was going out for some fresh air.It took me some twenty minutes to reach that dreadful place.
A mere sight of the house would run shivers down my spine. My heart throbbed, almost aching, as I walked through the main door.
Everything flashed back as memories....my first day here, Katie, the exorcism, Wendy.
The worst thing being the fact that after all that I did, nothing could help. She was still here.
Her multiple energy sources wasn't the only reason behind this. The fact that I belonged to the Cyrus family triggered her wish for revenge.
She couldn't kill me though.
I actually wish that she could so that it would end for once and all.Brushing my thoughts aside, I went inside.
The Banyan tree seemed as if it was enjoying being a witness to my miseries.
Not only mine, probably everyone's since the past two centuries or more, I don't know.I made my way to the attic.
From the moment I entered the house, I could feel a presence.
I could hear someone breathing right behind me.
I walked up the stairs, hoping for something that could help me but who was I fooling. The attic was as dusty and suffocating as it had ever been.
I used a torch to look through the stuff kept there.
I had already explored every inch of that place and I was really confused as to what new thing I would find there. The same old newspapers, photo albums, toys.
Nothing that I hadn't seen before.
To make sure that I had everything covered, I looked through the photographs again.
I read the newspapers twice to find a clue but it was all in vain.I picked up those old rusty toys and examined them.
While I was looking at a doll, someone pushed me and I fell down.
The doll fell a few inches ahead and as I walked further to pick it up, the floor beneath me creaked and broke.I fell down with a thud.
Where was I?
It was obviously an underground closet or basement, I don't know.
But I hadn't seen it before.
For that matter no one in my family did because it didn't have a door or a window.
It was hidden behind the walls for a reason. There were iron trunks ,ropes, a ladder.
I thanked my stars for the ladder.
I looked around. The walls were stained with blood , graffiti, curses and some foreign language which I couldn't decipher.
This place definitely held a lot more secrets than I imagined.
