MARLI MORRIS spends most of her life in and out of hospitals. That's what you do when your dad's a millionaire and you're diagnosed with an unidentifiable disease: everyone wants to either study you or becomes your stepmom.

Sentenced to a lifetime in a wheelchair, the disgruntled girl spends every waking moment wishing for an escape from this coddled, humdrum life. Her wish is granted, soon enough, but in the most bizarre way possible: in the form of an undead boy crashing through the windows of the hospice.

Whisked away from her confines at the hospital, Marli finally got what she wanted - but not for long. There's a storm coming: a turf war is being waged between two powerful supernatural forces, neither of which seem to be overly interested in her wellbeing.

It's up to her new companion, Eyeless Jack, to keep her safe and sound. But if the both of them intend to get out of this alive, he's going to need to know when and where to ask for help.
