richie tozier doesn't have athsma. in fact, he doesn't think he knows anyone who does.
so why does he always keep an inhaler on him? it's not like it could do any good, anyway. it's been empty for years. richie can't remember how he got it, when he got it, why he got it; it's simply just kind of... been there for as long as he can remember. he keeps it in the front pocket of his backpack, the pocket with the blood stains from the scar on his hand (though he's not really sure how he got that, either), and he's tried to get rid of it, but he just can't. sometimes, when he hears someone breathing a little too heavily, his hand instinctively flies to his backpack, and he gets brief flashbacks of brown eyes and red shorts.
he always just brushes it off, though. he knows he's being ridiculous.
