I woke up from the sound of my phone going off. I patted around my bed for it then found it. I answered with even looking at the screen

Chres:" what "

??:" well that's not a very nice way to greet someone Chresanto!" Said the feminine voice

Chres:"Stacie.." I groaned

??:" nooo.. Guess again" she laughed

Chres:" listen lady, I just woke up. So either you tell me your name or I hang up, simple"

??:" I think you would remember the voice of the girl you dated for three years"

I shot up " jasmine!"

Jasmine:" there you go!"

Chres:" oh my god.. Hey!"

Jasmine:" hey, how are you?"

Chres:" I'm good I'm good! What about you?"

Jasmine:" welll..remember that little deal we made?"

Chres:" yeaa?" I said rubbing my eyes

Jasmine:" well I did it! I finished school!"

Chres:" that's great! I'm happy for you"

Jasmine:" I know! Now we can be together again"

I frowned " jasmine.. You do realize that this was like seven years ago, right?"

Jasmine:" yea.. So what?"

Chres:" well..things changed. I can't just up and be with you again."

Jasmine:" so you broke the promise?"

Chres:" did you really except me to wait for you? We were in high school. We didn't know what we wanted.."

Jasmine:" I did!"

Chres:" oh please jasmine. We both know your lying.. I just don't think it's gonna work this time"

Jasmine:" you found someone else?"

Chres:"... I guess you could say that" I said scratching my head

Jasmine:" I see.."

Chres:" I'm really sorry Jas.."

Jasmin:" it's fine. I just can't believe I got my hopes up..Good bye Chresanto"

Chres:" bye.." I hung up " well that was fun." I said as I got up

How did she even get my number? I haven't seen jasmine in years! We were high school sweet hearts.. Or at least I thought we were. Her parents made us break up so she could go to university in Chicago. But when she left, I didn't even care.

It just proves how much high school is a big blur to me. I can't believe I was actually gonna wait for her! The single life got to my head and I went crazy. And I realized there was no such thing as 'waiting'. if you want something, go for it. That's when I started traveling, I had no time to dwell on jasmine..

I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth and put on my police uniform. I went down to the kitchen and grabbed an apple, then went to my car. I arrived at the police station and was greeted by everyone

Mathew:" chres! Thank god, I have my partner back" he said walking towards me

Chres:" hey" I smiled

Mathew:" how was your break?"

Chres:" fine.. Nothing special"

Mathew:" no hot chicks?" I gave him a sly smile " ahh that's what I thought!!"
