To start off I wanna say that this is not a response to someone else doing a similar thing but is actually a cascade effect as I will talk about every gen of Pokémon well more like be my opinionated self.
This is 100% how I see these and that is all I gotta say.
Anyway onto the show:
So firstly the word I think of as soon as someone mentions Pokémon Pearl (As that is the gen 4 game I played) was and always has been "Journey"
To me the story of Pearl felt the most like a journey. As it was slow paced enough for me to feel a sort of connection to the player character. In a way it made it easier to picture myself there.
However I do have to say that the opening part with the television thing about the red gyarados was a little dragging even by my standards.
However I still enjoyed the start of the game. It felt really like the start of a journey.
Next I wanna mention how blown away my young mind had been when I first played Pokémon pearl and the graphics were just... wow I couldn't believe how good it looked.
Especially since before that I was playing Pokémon silver and yellow version on my GBA.
Now I know that pacing bothers lots of people but to me as said before it felt like a journey so to me I loved the slow pace even as a kid.
(Also back then I was playing games like Final Fantasy X and that game is long af so my patience was pretty good.)
Anyway I also enjoyed the diary thing that Pokémon Pearl had done. Basically when you loaded back into your save file, it would show pages and on those pages were things you had done sorta like a recap of your journey.
It was a neat mechanic yet to really be seen again.
Anyway now onto my opinion of the villain team that every Pokémon game has to have because what is an adventure without a villain... well honestly maybe they could make a game without a villain team, that arent like yknow Pokémon spin off titles that are usually puzzle ones or whatever the heck the dead meme known as GO has.
Anyway team galactic to me at least were an alright team. Yeah there bases stuck out but they also looked rather intimidating and kinda reminded me of groudon's back.
The grunts were a little on the stupid side but to me they at least weren't overly stupid like the rocket grunts... shots fired and nobody could stand out as much as team flare.
However a common thing made a point of is the whole honey and windworks thing and to that I say... well it made a really good diversion.
Think of it this way, Team rocket were basically a mafia sort of thing but the grunts were idiots and you know they did a lot of questionable ish.
Team aqua and team magma, at least in my opinion, were the best evil teams if you don't count in villains from spin offs.
Team galactic to me seemed to always be mysterious. You would question just why they do such things they did but in the time you dealt with the grunts would you ever connect the leader of galactic to them?
It is a similar case to Lysander. He was a very great villain character and had a lot of background to him. The team flare grunts however were an entirely different case.
Basically team flare is kinda like the remastered team galactic only one wanted to keep beauty while the other wanted to create a world without emotion.
Both very intense stuff. Both cold leaders and both lead a team that do a lot of questionable ish... anyone wanna bring up the pokeball factory part in X and Y or was I the only one that found that stupid.
