I am realizing now why do people start talking instead of keeping quiet. Speaking means to put yourself at the center. For a brief moment, while speaking, all eyes are turned to the speaker. So, he gains interest. Speak allows us to hide in full light. Concentrated on words, most people do not see the body – its dance, its language, its tears. Remain silent is to take the risk of getting naked in front of everyone eyes and few, myself included, are ready to take this risk. So, we intervene, we distort our silence with grimaces and other posturing. We blur the tracks as a murder blur the clues.
I am honestly afraid of the day when someone will read between the lines of my big speeches because then it will be how much I am afraid, how much I have no control, how much I am clueless and powerless sometimes.
