*A month later*

I rolled over in our bed to find Jace's warmth missing, I grope at the sheets to find his side empty. My fingers brush over the thin rough sheet of paper left on the bed. I open my eyes and read it.

My dearest Clary,

I am sorry that I am not here while you wake, or to make you breakfast. But Izzy and I have been called out to take care of a demon, I'm sorry to leave you all alone, but Alec's still in his room. I should be back before lunch, so don't miss me to much.

Love, Jace

I smile at his note and check my phone, it's 11:50, Jace should be here soon. I stand up and a tight knot forms in my stomach, I run for the bathroom and violently throw up in the toilet. The smell of blood fills the room, which causes me to throw up more, before I know it Jace's hands are pulling back my messy hair and he is murmuring soothing things in my ear. I lean back into his chest and his arms wrap around my now bulging stomach.

"Are you okay now?" He asks, his voice gentle. I nod.

"Yeah, I'm actually a little hungry now" Jace chuckles and I can feel his chest vibrate. I smile. He stands up and pulls me up after him, his sleeve is torn and blood seeps out of his arm. I hold my breath so I can't smell the blood.

"Pass me your arm" he does as I ask and I pull out my stele and lightly draw a healing rune on his arm.

"Better?" I ask.

"Much" he kisses me quickly and scoops me up in his arms, carrying me to the kitchen.

I was sitting in the library reading with Jace, the book was settled in Jace's lap as he read to me. My head was resting on his shoulder and I was slowly falling asleep, my eyes closed and I felt Jace's chest vibrate as he chuckled. Jace closed the book and placed it beside him, I heard the door bang open and I jumped awake.

"Time to go shopping" Izzy squeal merrily. Jace gave her a look that shot daggers.

"Izzy, I'm not shopping with you" I said yawning.

"Yes. You. Are" she said ignoring Jace's look. I sighed and Jace wrapped his arms around me.

"Please Izzy, I'm not interested in shoes" she smiled.

"Not shoes silly. For the baby" "you need to get a crib, and blankets, and baby clothes"

"And" Jace budded in. "Izzy and I need to pick out my prize" I groaned and elbowed him in the ribs, he grunted and I grinned.

"Let's get this over with"

As we walk around the shopping centre I can't help but think that I look out of place, the gorgeous, blonde shadowunter, the beautiful but vicious Izzy, and then there's me, the fat, short redhead with the bad temper. Jace had a smug smile on his face and a very small Victoria's Secret bag in his hand, I'm not sure whether to be relieved that it's not some big dress up outfit, or to be worried that it's so small that it barely covers anything at all. I shudder at the thought and keep walking.

We came home with a crib, a cot, a baby change table, a lifetimes supply of diapers, baby clothes for a boy and a girl, a mobile, a baby carrier and baby monitors, all thanks to Izzy. Izzy and Jace moved all of the stuff into the new baby's room, which is right next to Jace and ours. About an our later Jace walked to me in the library and sat down next to me.

"Hey" he kissed me hungrily. I smiled and picked up my sketchpad.

"Where's Izzy" I asked not looking up from the paper.

"I-" Jace got interrupted by Izzy squealing. Jace picked me up in one fluid movement and zoomed off in the direction of Izzy's scream. When we rounded the corner Jace came to an abrupt halt, Izzy was hugging a tall figure, a figure that Jace knew better than himself. He was a tall lean man, with black spidery marks up his arms, his black clothes looked like they had been eaten by moths, his black hair hung in his deep blue eyes. Blue met Gold as Jace stared into Alec's eyes he had missed so much for the past few months.

"I'm sorry" Alec said
