If there was one thing Yasu missed about American public schools, it would be the freedom to where whatever the students wanted based on the dress code, thought she had to spend extra time on wondering what to wear and tell off the mean students who judged her choice when they weren't the disciplinary teacher.
It was not that she hated wearing school uniforms, as she agreed it saved her time to prepare every weekday morning. But what she hated was the official assembly on Monday mornings when students had line up according to classes and let the school prefects check their attire. She hated it whenever the female prefects touched her and tried to find fault in what she was wearing despite the fact she was following the dress code. In the end, she had to give them a nasty glare to back them off.
'How long more?' she wondered, yawning when the assembly had yet to start. She turned around and realised that both her friends weren't in their queue. 'Where are Kuroko and Kagami?'
Suddenly, from the corner of her eyes, she saw the latter standing on the railing of the roof, and shouted, "Class 1-B, number 5, Kagami Taiga! I will defeat the Generation of Miracles and become the best player in Japan!"
Yasu raised a brow while the other students murmured at this. 'Is this a tradition of the basketball club?' she wondered before smiling. 'I actually kind of like this.'
After Kagami stepped down from the railing, Kawahara went in front and shouted, "Class 1-A, Kawahara Koichi, from Chuo Ward, Tokyo!" He carried off about how he was sick and unable to play sports until he was inspired to join the basketball club in middle school. Riko had enough and kicked him before he continued.
"Next!" she ordered the rest.
Soon, Fukuda stepped up. "Class 1-D, Fukuda Hiroshi! I like helping others, so when I heard an upperclassman asking for help, I immediately offered my assistance!"
"Class 1-D, Furihata Koki." yelled the next person. "The girl I like said she'd go out with me if I become the best at something! I joined the basketball team to become number one!"
Kuroko then stepped forward with a megaphone. When he was about to utter a word, a teacher burst open the door, catching them red handed. And while the assembly went on, the people on the roof were lectured by the teacher. Yasu glanced up at the roof while the principal spoke about doing well in both academics and co-curriculum activities. 'I wonder what was Kuroko's goal, if the teacher hadn't interrupted?' she wondered.

"Thank you very much!" said the cashier while bowing as Kagami held his tray to a table, taking a seat.
"I can't believe he got mad over a little shouting." he muttered before taking a bite of his burger.
"I didn't even finish, and I got in trouble too." said Kuroko. Kagami snapped his head at him, who was drinking vanilla milkshake like usual, and Yasu sitting on his right with her usual order, and forcibly swallowed his food before he choked.
"You two again?" he asked, surprised at their sudden appearance. "Maybe I should start going somewhere else"
"I heard the basketball team isn't allowed to the roof anymore." stated Yasu after swallowing the piece of burger she chewed.
"What will we do if we can't join the basketball team?" wondered Kuroko.
"That's not gonna happen." assured Kagami before he asked, "By the way, why didn't you guys go to some big name school like the other five guys?"
"Seirin is closer to my home compared to the others." replied Yasu before looking at Kuroko, fully knowing his reason to not be in the same school as them.
