Not So Simple (Root Pack x Reader)

Chapter 1: Simple Introductions

I am a simple girl. My hair is average compared to most humans. So is my face, body and other aspects of myself. My likes and dislikes tend to line up with what is considered normal for those my age. 

This doesn't seem like a bad thing though. There are already plenty girls who do crazy things and have crazy features. Heck I've even heard of a woman on Isle 1 who can turn into a blimp! I'm comfortable with who I am so I'm just going to continue as I please.

 My mother and father always used to say to live life the way you feel it should be lived. If you don't like something about your life then change it and if your happy with how life is going for you then try to keep it that way. Of course that was a long time ago. 

Sense then I have learned what I want from life, I want a simple life with a simple family. No craziness, just people who I can care for and who care for me.

((((Y/N)'s POV)))

"(Y/N)! Hey (Y/N)!! ovER HERE!!"

I looked over my shoulder and was immediately assaulted with red and blue as the person who was shouting tackled me in a bear hug. 

"AH!! Beppi!! I told you to stop doing that!" I said as I brushed the dust from my (f/c) skirt. (Yes you are wearing a skirt, it's the time period. Deal with it.)

Beppi doubled over laughing at me. I was probably making a hilarious expression to him so I let it slide. I would have laughed too. 

"Aww but where's the fun in that buddy!"

"It would be 'fun' not to have to worry about where I fall every time to decide to try and squish my insides into paint." I stated wryly. He does this every time, sometimes I fall in some spilled ice cream or some mud. I've had many an outfit ruined by his hand. 

"Oh stop it. You know you could live without me!" He flashed me a pair of large yellow puppy eyes. Damn him, he knew my weakness. 

"Ughhh. Yes, I know," I relented. "Now what is it, you look like your about to pop from excitement." 

"OH! Yeah I almost forgot! Silly me~ Djimmi and I are going to a party on Isle 1 tonight and I was wondering if you wanted to come! Everyone's invited SEE!" He pressed a paper to my face, so close I couldn't actually read it, but I nodded anyways. 

"Are you sure? I wouldn't wanna ruin your date with your magic macho man~" I teased, leaning a little closer and wiggling my eyebrows for emphasis. 

The effect was immediate as Beppi's face erupted in red. 

"I-IT'S NOT A D-DATE!!!" He covered his face and glared at me. I couldn't help but laugh at him. He had fallen for him, bad.

"Ok Beppi, whatever you say. Don't blow up on me here." 

"Hmph!!" He continued pouting and turned his back to me.

"Do you still want me to go to the party?" I stood up straight and looked at him. He straightened a little and peeked over his shoulder. 

He said nothing, he just nodded a little. Like a kid he got caught doing something he wasn't supposed to. 

"Well, for you. My friend, i'll go." 

He sprang at me like a cat and squeezed me and lifted me up into another surprise hug. I was a little taller than him only an inch or two, but he had a grip like a vice. 

"Thankyouthankyouthankyou(Y/N)!!" 

"Don't mention it. Now please put me down." 

"Oh ok." He set me back on the ground and bounced happily in place like a toddler. "Djimmi and I will be by your place around dusk to pick you up for the party. Wear your best dress!" 

And with that, he sprinted off to go find more friends to tell about the party. I sighed and relaxed a little as he left. Beppi was nice but sometimes being around him was emotionally taxing. How Djimmi put up with it on a daily basis was the true mystery of that man. Must have the patience of a saint, I reasoned. 

I gathered my fallen bags from Porkrind's and headed back to my house, to get ready for a random party that will be going on in the middle of the night where I know only two out of however many other people will be there.
