Sunflowers

We are all just sunflowers trying to reach our maximum height.
We all want to be a part of those wondrous fields that people visit

But the sun wasn't bright enough this summer
The dismal rain slowly beat us down with every drop
Our leaves are falling, our petals turning brown

We will be okay though, we are not alone
The rain can't damage just one flower, but the whole precious field
Our sunshine will come someday soon each flower will bloom again.

We encourage each other to turn our petals up toward the sun. There is plenty of light for all of us

We are all just sunflowers
Standing so tall and so beautiful
The others now admire our fields as we sway in the wind together
In perfect unison.
