Keep the heid!

Okay, this is so awkward...I started this story in December 2015, I'm still not done...Damn...School, friends, writing other stories (not on Wattpad sadly) ...Thanks for everyone who still added this to their reading list, and for you reading it now. Thank you <3

Eugene opens the box 'Oh...That's not what I expected...'

A beautiful crown is revealed. 'Crap! That's from the princess...I mean...you...'

Suddenly, Eugene jumps on one knee while bowing 'Your highness...'

'The lost princess...I...I can't believe it...Please get up.' She grabs his arm.

Eugene places the crown gently on her head. 'You never had an idea, did you?'

Rapunzel shrugs 'Can we just focus on getting out of here? Maybe this is one of her tricks again.'

'The door is jammed...No reception on our phones...' Eugene starts to pace around. 'There has to be a way out...'

'Plus, we need to save Anna...'

'Let's just...check everything...There is always a way out!' Eugene reassures her and after that, the two start looking.

An hour later, the two sit on the floor, both totally exhausted.

'She's a damn smart lady...She brought all the good stuff probably inside the house, she knew that she would lock you up one day in here.'

'Actually, she did it before...' Rapunzel whispers softly.

'She wat?!'

Rapunzel nods and she stares at her feet 'If I was mischievous...'

'Why didn't you tell anyone?'

Rapunzel sighs 'I don't know...Merida already got mother issues herself, and Anna would literally do anything to get hers back...I couldn't simply complain about it...'

Eugene carefully wraps his arm around her. When he notices that she accepts the embrace, he pulls her closer 'It must have been awful, all on your own in here...'

Rapunzel giggles 'Well, I found a way to get creative...My mom had a lot of stuff in here...I red books, sometimes even two or three, or I crafted...and of course...' She gets up and walks to a wall with a big cupboard before it. She pushes it away and shows what's behind it.

'...painting!' Eugene mouths falls open and he looks in awe at the masterpiece Rapunzel made.

It was her, sitting in a tree, looking into the sun.

'That's beautiful...but...that sun...'

'What?'

Eugene grabs something from his satchel. It's like some sort of napkin.

'My mother once gave this to me, she said it belonged to the castle.' He gives it to Rapunzel.

Rapunzel studies the purple napkin, with a golden sun painted on it. 'It's the same...'

Eugene smiles softly 'Maybe, somewhere, you did know that you are the princess.'

'Rapunzel! Are you in there?' They suddenly hear a Scottish accent.

'Merida! How did you find us? Please, be quick, before...'

'Keep the heid! I'm getting you lovebirds out!'

A loud crash follows and Merida sways with a big sword. 'Don't tell my father, I borrowed it without asking...'

Rapunzel runs towards her and pulls her into a hug 'Thank you...'

'How did you know that we were there?' Eugene asks while sipping his coffee.

Merida pulls her hair back 'Well, I noticed you two fled the party, and that was weird, because Rap would always say goodbye to me or text me when she's home safely. So, I left the party too and searched around your house. Then I saw your mother cackling around like crazy, but I didn't know why, and I was like Ye mak a better door than a windae. And then I found you guys in the shed and I saved your lives.'

'I have no idea what she just said,' Eugene mutters with a bewildered expression on his face.

Rapunzel just laughs 'You are the best Merida! Now that you know everything, you can help us save Anna.'

'And get that fake mother into prison,' Eugene adds. 'And... take you home...' he says a little bit sad.

In the castle would be no place for guys like him...

'Let me grab my bow!' Merida hops of the couch and runs to another room, leaving Eugene and Rapunzel alone.

'You don't have to help, if you don't want to...'

'I do want to help! I really like you Rapunzel...I know, it's the worst timing to declare it now, but...when you're reunited in the castle with your parents, I won't be able to...'

'Let's move people! I have some weapons for you too...' Merida interrupts loudly.

She hands Eugene a sword 'Okay, I can work with that.'

Then, she looks at Rapunzel 'I can give you a real weapon, but I think this is way better for a girl like you.' And with an amused smile, she gives Rapunzel a frying pan.

The three exit Merida's house 'Any idea where they can be?'

The girls both look at Eugene, who thinks for a moment 'Actually, yeah...'

Thanks for reading <3   I added some Scottish sayings for Merida, but I'm not Scottish myself so I hope I used them correct.

Translations: 

Keep the heid --> Stay calm/don't lose your head

Ye mak a better door than a windae --> Get out of the way, you're obscuring my view 

Next chapter will be the last one, the big finale, but I promise, it won't take forever again for me to write it ;)
